How To Choose The Best Free Video Editing Software For You

Top 5 Best FREE Video Editing Apps for iPhone & iPad 2021! (No Watermarks)

There are several key factors to consider. What kind of video do you intend to make, and where is it for? Theres a world of difference between quick editing of home videos youll watch on TV and editing something for Netflix or cinema distribution.

Youll need to consider what formats the software needs to export in, what level of quality it needs to output and whether it can deliver the kind of visual effects you want to use. If youll be collaborating, your app will need to be compatible with the other peoples apps too.

Theres also you to consider. Are you experienced, or would a simpler app that takes you step by step through the whole process be more helpful? Do you want to have complete control over every pixel, or would you rather let the computer do most of the work? How future-proof do you need your app to be?

Remember that most, if not all, free video editing apps are limited while not all high-end editors are frighteningly expensive. Think about whether a free-to-use option is best for you or if you’re willing to pay a little more for a bit more functionality.

Remember too that the more you can do, the more youll want it to do. Can your chosen app grow with your imagination?

Create Edits With Third

Third-party video editors, such as Adobe Premiere Rush, are also available for turning your raw footage into creative videos. Adding titles, importing audio, applying presets and transitions are just a few of the edits you can apply with Rush. Plus, like iMovie, it works seamlessly between iPhones and Macs, allowing for easy control when editing.

Take a moment to get a few video and editing techniques that might inspire you. Then, explore what more you can do with Premiere Rush to make epic edits to your iPhone videos.

Duplicate Your Video To Preserve The Original

When you edit a video, the original video is overwritten with the edited version.

However, edits that you make in the Photos app are non-destructive. So you can revert back to the original video at any time.

But what if you want to keep the original video in your photo library, along with a separate edited version?

In such cases, you can duplicate the video before editing. That way, youll have two copies of the video on your iPhone one of which can be edited.

To duplicate a video, open it in the app, then tap the icon at the bottom left.

Scroll down and select Duplicate.

Tap the Back arrow at the top left of the screen to return to thumbnail view in your photo library.

The duplicate video will be at the bottom of your photo library.

You can now edit this duplicate video, safe in the knowledge that the original version wont be altered.

Note that the video editing tools support all video formats captured on iPhone. So you can edit videos, time-lapse videos, and slo-mo videos.

Best Video Editor App Ever But

This is by far the best video editor app Ive ever used. Im a new vlogger and i get the most vlog-like videos using it. It allows me to speed up or slow down my videos, add filters/ adjust brightness, contrast, saturation etc, I can also add pictures to my videos and record voice clippings in the app. Theres also a feature for adding text to the screen. However, my biggest problem is the saving process. I make > 4 minutes videos and it takes like half an hour to save videos. Sometimes after Ive waited that long it goes off to say that save failed and I have to do it all over again! Very frustrating. Next thing is I can only save one draft at a time so I cant edit 2 vlogs at once or else the other one will be deleted. I also dont like it that sometimes if I pause my editing and go do something on other apps, when I re-enter the app, all my editing has been lost. I would like to be able to use actual songs instead of just tracks and sound effects. Lastly, it would be nice if the app noted me that I need a little more storage space BEFORE I wait almost an hour for a video to process and then I have to try clear some space and go back in the app only to find that my editing has been lost and I have to do it all over again. Other than these things, editing my videos for my new vlog is easiest using InShot. I would recommend it to anyone.
