Find And Launch Apps With Voice Commands Using Siri
If you prefer to use voice commands, its easy to launch any app without having to find its icon. Just ask Siri.
On older iPhones and iPads, hold down the Home button below the screen. On newer devices without a Home button, hold the power button until the Siri screen pops up.
Or, if you have Hey Siri enabled, you can simply say Hey Siri to launch Siri.
Once Siri is activated, say Launch and the name of the app that youd like to launch.
In this case, were using Minecraft as an example, so you would tell Siri, Launch Minecraft.
After that, the app will launch, and youre in business!
Update Apps In Ios 12 And Below
Similarly, apps downloaded from the App Store to iOS devices with versions 12 and below automatically update by default. If you havent changed this then you shouldnt have to worry about iPhone updating apps.

Check For Ios Updates Using Settings
The quickest way to find out whether there are iOS updates is by using the Settings app on your iPhone. First, make sure that your iPhone is connected to the internet so that it can communicate with Apples update servers. Then, open Settings by locating and tapping the gray gear icon.
In Settings, select General.
In General, if you see a red circle with a number in it beside Software Update, then theres definitely a software update available for your iPhone. Even if there isnt a red circle, tap Software Update to find out more.
If theres an update available for your iPhone, the version number of the new iOS update will be prominently listed on the Software Update screen. Youll also see a Download and Install or Install Now button near the bottom of the screen.
If youd like to install the update, its a good idea to connect your iPhone to a charger and perform a backup first. When youre ready, tap Download and Install or Install Now and follow the onscreen instructions.
If there was no red circle beside Software Update and there are no software updates available for your iPhone, the Software Update screen will show the current iOS version number and iOS is up to date.
If your iPhone is currently connected to the internet, you can be confident that this message is accurate, because the page will check with Apples update servers when you load it. If you feel that something is wrong, please check the troubleshooting section below.

Update From Available Updates
While the “Updates” tab is no longer a thing in iOS 13, most of it was moved to another location, albeit, one that’s a little harder to find.
In older iOS versions, there would be a numbered badge on the “Updates” indicating how many updates were available, and in iOS 13, you’ll see that same badge on top of your profile picture in the top right of any tab. As you can probably guess by now, you’ll need to tap your profile picture to view available updates and recently updates apps. It may be obvious when you have updates available, but if you don’t, you might not ever guess to look in your Account options.
When you open up your Account options page, look for the Available Updates section , which will look almost exactly like the “Updates” tab in iOS 12 and older.
You can tap on “More” next to an app to view more details about the update, tap on the app icon to view its main page, tap “Update” next to an app to manually update it, or tap “Update All” to update all apps in the list.
Find The Updates Section Of App Store On iPhone In Ios 13
When you open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad after upgrading to iOS 13, youll find that the Updates tab is gone. Its replaced by a gaming icon that says Arcade.
In the current iOS 13 beta, the Arcade feature is not live. It just shows a splash screen. The Updates section is still there its just in a new place.
Step 1: To go to the Updates section of the App Store in iOS 13, go to the Today tab or the Search tab and tap on your Profile icon in the top-right corner.
Step 2: Your Account screen will open in a new panel. If you have any updates available, youll see them at the bottom of the screen. If you have automatic updates turned on, as I do, youll see a section called which will show a list of recently updated apps.
Everything else is the same. You can expand the update notes, you can update apps individually and open updated apps.
In fact, theres even a new feature. You can swipe left on any app on the Updates or Recently Updated list to reveal a Delete icon. Tapping on it will actually delete the app from your iPhone or iPad, and not just from this list.
This is a great new feature especially if you install a lot of apps and then forget to use or delete them. As and when the updates come in, they can serve as a good reminder to ask yourself, am I actually using this app? If the answer is no, well, just swipe left, tap on the Delete button and move on.

Assuming you dont want to wait for your iPhone to get around to updating an app automatically, you can take the initiative yourself and do things manually.
Simply go to App Store > Your Profile, which youll see in the top-right corner of the App Store screen. From there, youll next see a subheading: Upcoming Automatic Updates. If there are any upcoming updates available, you can download and install them instantly by tapping the Update button next to whichever update you want to install. You can also tap Update All , which youll see immediately below the Upcoming Automatic Updates heading.
There is another way of searching for updates for your iPhone apps and then installing them manually. Open the App Store again, and then use the Search tab to find whichever app youd like to update. If an update is available for the app, youll see an Update button next to it. Press this button to begin updating.
Lastly, theres one other way of manually installing iPhone app updates. This involves offloading an app and then reinstalling it, which provides you with the latest version. This is obviously more involved than the methods outlined above, but it can sometimes be useful if you have an app that stops working properly. This is something , for example, after we upgraded to iOS 14.2.

If your iPhone is set up as normal, you should already have automatic updates activated. This means your phone will download and install app updates as and when they become available. However, if automatic updates arent activated, heres how you can turn them on.
First, go to Settings > App Store. Next, find the Automatic Downloads subheading and tap the slider next to App Updates, so it turns green.
