The new iPhone SE that Apple released this year made headlines thanks to its $749 starting price, top of the line A13 Bionic chip and familiar design. The latter some have bemoaned, but if its an iPhone youre after then its still a great choice.
We gave the SE a solid four-star review and championed its surprisingly good camera. It may well be the best thing about the diminutive new handset, and just about makes up for the fact it looks just like the iPhone 6, 6s, 7 and 8.
Its surprising because for the price, youd expect the photo performance of such a phone to suffer. Even though the SE has a relatively small 4.7in LCD and average battery life, it over-performs in the imaging department.
They say the best camera is the one you have with you. I twisted that a tad and took the iPhone SE 2020 out with the iPhone SE from 2016 and the iPhone 11 Pro to see which of the three was the best on the day.
Given that most people take the majority of photos on their iPhones in auto mode without changing any of the default settings, thats exactly what I did with all three to see just how much the iPhone SE has improved from its four year old predecessor, and how much more camera you really get by spending a whopping $1,200 more on the iPhone 11 Pro.

iPhone Se Vs iPhone Se : Price In India
The iPhone SE launched with 16GB and 64GB storage options with the former priced at Rs. 39,000 and the latter at Rs. 49,000. Later, Apple refreshed the lineup with the 32GB and 128GB models, replacing the 16GB and 64GB models, for the same price. It was available in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and Space Grey colour options.
Talking about the new iPhone SE, the phone comes with 64GB storage variant priced at Rs. 42,500, 128GB model priced at Rs. 47,800, and the 256GB storage variant priced at Rs. 58,300. It will be available in Black, White, and RED colour options. Information on availability in the Indian market is currently unknown.

Software And Image Processing
The 2020 iPhone SE upgrades its predecessor’s HDR imaging to Smart HDR, which allows for automatically re-lighting recognized subjects and produces more natural images with better highlight and shadow details.
The iPhone SE2 adds support for Apples Portrait Lighting effects along with QuickTake video, which enables you to capture video without leaving photo mode.
Perhaps the most significant upgrade is the addition of Portrait mode with bokeh and depth control. This effect is much harder to achieve on single-camera devices but Apple leverages the increased processing power of the A13 processor to create these effects using software. The iPhone SE2s selfies also gain Portrait mode and Portrait Lighting effects neither of which is present on the original model.
The new iPhone SE supports Portrait mode with adjustable bokeh effects, but only for photos of … people.

Unfortunately, like on the iPhone XR, the SE2s Portrait mode is designed to work only on pictures of people for now. Furthermore, the SE2 doesnt support Apples Deep Fusion image processing, despite its powerful A13 chip and Third-generation Neural Engine.

- Thuisknop met Touch ID: beide iPhones hebben de klassieke thuisknop met Touch ID . Die op de nieuwe SE reageert wel een fractie sneller.
- Bediening: de iPhones van de laatste jaren hebben geen thuisknop en dat betekent dat je allerlei nieuwe gebaren in de vingers moet krijgen. De oude en de nieuwe iPhone SE hebben dankzij de thuisknop nog steeds de vertrouwde bediening.
- Lightning-aansluiting: de nieuwe iPhone SE is draadloos oplaadbaar, maar je laadt hem net zo gemakkelijk op via Lightning. Je oude kabeltjes en adapters komen dus nog steeds van pas.
- iOS 13: beide toestellen zijn geschikt voor iOS 13, de meest recente versie van het besturingssysteem. Houd er wel rekening mee dat de oude SE in september misschien niet meer kan updaten naar iOS 14. Met de nieuwe SE kun je nog heel wat jaren vooruit, waarschijnlijk weer een jaar of vier, vijf.

When the 2016 iPhone SE launched the main thing that set it apart from the other iPhone handsets of the time was its 4in display. If you were hoping that the new iPhone SE would retain that small display youll be disappointed its screen is 4.7in, like the iPhone 8.
Wed suggest that you accept that its not a bad thing that the 2020 iPhone SE has a bigger display than its namesake. While you may consider that a smaller display will mean that your iPhone is smaller which might appeal if you have small hands and small pockets there are many more downsides to a small screen: youll be able to see less information, pictures lack detail, less text fits on the screen, and games crammed on to the smaller screen are less enjoyable to play.
But if a small phone is what you are after then theres no denying that the 2016 iPhone SE was smaller:
