How To Reset iPhone Without Apple Id By Using Itunes
If you have a computer running the latest version of iTunes, then you can easily reset your iPhone by using this method. Before you proceed, however, it is highly recommended that you take a backup of all your data, preferably to iCloud. However, you can also take a backup using iTunes prior to resetting the device. Once you have done the backup, just proceed by using the steps below:
Step 1. Connect your iPhone to the computer that is running the latest version of iTunes. You can use the cable that came with your phone for this purpose.
Step 2 . At this point, you may need to enter your device passcode on your iPhone or trust the computer, depending on which version of iOS your device is running on.
Step 3 . On the iTunes interface, select your device at the top of the screen. Now click on the “Summary” panel on the left and on the right side you will have an option to “Restore iPhone”. Click on that. You need to confirm once again, so click on “Restore” when prompted. All content and settings will be deleted from the iPhone afterwards.
The device will now be restored to its factory settings, so none of your data or custom settings will be available to you. However, your device should now be able to run smoothly and without any glitches or errors. During the process, you may come across certain errors such as the device not being detected by iTunes or a number of other known issues. If this is a problem for you, then we recommend that you try Method 2 described below.

What Happens When You Erase A Device Via Find My iPhone
It is erased. Completely.
Activation lock, however, remains in effect. So it would still be a paperweight or parts source at most unless the original owner gets it back.
Your phone is constantly checking in with Apple servers if you’re logged into an Apple ID. If you use the app on a different device, there is a pending request that the next time that device connects to the internet and checks in with Apple, it’ll immediately restart and wipe everything, like it’s a fresh phone, but with one exception:
If you don’t also remove the device from the account, when you go to set up the phone, the start of the setup process sends the serial number to Apple and checks to see if the device is locked to an Apple ID. If it is, then the setup forces you to put the old email and password in so it can be removed from the account. If you don’t have the info, you cannot remove the lock from the phone and it is effectively just a parts phone at this point, since the setup cannot be completed.
There are ways to reset the password, or force the device to be removed from the account, but that’s for another post.
All iPhones iOS8 and above hold all the information in encrypted storage. When you first set up the phone a unique key is generated and stored in secure key chip, and every time you start the phone the key is used to unlock the storage of the phone. Access is then controlled by setting a PIN, again usually as part of the set up process.
