Does 2022 Mean The End For iPhone 7
Most likely yes, by the time 2022 arrives, we will have iPhone 14 on our hands and two new major feature updates as well. Apple ideally supports devices for 5 years and some get an additional year of support if they have enough processing power. Ideally, the 5 years support will end this year for iPhone 7 with the release of iOs 15. However, considering the iPhone 7s processing power and the fact that the iPhone 6s has gotten 6 feature updates and is running the latest iOS 14, we suspect an additional year of updates for the iPhone 7 as well.
This grace of one year could very well be cut short if Apple decides to revamp the OS and introduce resource-heavy features which would slow down the iPhone 7. In that case, 2021 could mean the end of the iPhone 7.
iPhone 3gs Features And Functionality
In terms of features and functionality, the iPhone 3GS did not change all that much from the iPhone 3G. It included all of the same features as the first two iPhones plus:
- VoiceOver for Accessibility
- Voice control
- Nike + iPod for training
- An inline remote on the headphone cable
These changes were nice, but what really made the iPhone 3GS different was how it was built on the inside.
iPhone X Features And Functionality
The first thing that jumps out about the iPhone X is that it is all screen. Apple did away with much of the material surrounding the screen, and it put in an OLED display that covers the entire surface of the phone. In doing this, though, Apple made a big change: it got rid of its signature Home button. This created a major change in the user experience, as you now need to swipe up with your finger to exit apps and switch between screens. Doing away with the Home button, though, means there is no more Touch ID. But to compensate, the iPhone X has facial recognition, meaning all you need to do is look at your phone to unlock it.
Another new feature of the iPhone X are Aniemojis, which are emojis that move on the screen and that can be created using an avatar based on your own face. While this is hardly a technological breakthrough, it certainly made the iPhone more fun.

iPhone 12 Pro: October 23 2020
The iPhone 12 Pro boasts some very fancy camera and color upgrades as compared to the 12 and the 12 mini, but comes in the same 6.1-inch screen size as the iPhone 12 and includes all of the baseline features present in the budget models. New camera features introduced in 2020 include a triple-lens arrangement like we saw with the iPhone 11 Pro models, but with LiDAR scanning, improved Night Mode, and enhanced zoom range and lens functions. Apple’s IP67 water-resistance rating on the new iPhone finally catches up to phones that have been dunkable for a while. Samsung’s Galaxy S7 can survive a drop in the sink. Even the supercheap Moto G4 can do it.
How water resistant is the iPhone 7? Apple calls it “splash and water resistant,” and by the way, IP67 means one meter of water for 30 minutes and complete dust resistance. But Apple also warns that any dip in salt water should be followed by an immediate rinse in fresh water. And also, you have to dry your phone for at least a couple of hours before charging .

In more aggressive tests, we took the iPhone 7 a bit past its advertised aquatic limits: submerged at a depth of 1 meter in a pool of chlorinated water for a bit more than 30 minutes. In that case, the speaker quality got a bit mushy, but the phone was otherwise in working order.
Bottom line: the iPhone 7 should easily survive trips in rain and snow, as well as getting dropped in tubs, pools, sinks and other wet environs. But don’t tempt fate by leaving it in water for any longer than you have to.

iPhone 7 Water Resistance
The iPhone 7 feel solid, arguably more solid than the previous generation iPhone 6S. This may have something to do with the fact that the phone is now water resistant, carrying an IP67 ingress rating. That means the iPhone 7 can last up to 30 minutes fully submerged in about 3 feet of water. This doesnt make the phone waterproof, however, so you shouldnt take the iPhone 7 with you into the pool. The IP67 rating is merely a little extra protection to survive drops in the toilet and the like.

iPhone Xs And Xs Max Improvements And Upgrades
Although Apple put quite a bit of work into making the XS and XS Max seem significantly different than the iPhone X, in reality, the phones are very similar. The X and the XS are almost identical in size, except the XS weighs .01 ounces less. The XS Max, by design, is larger. It has a 6.5 inch/16.5cm screen as compared to 5.8 inches/14.7, and it weighs about an ounce more than the iPhone XS.
Both phones got an upgraded camera, largely with improved HDR and image stabilization technology, and although the front-facing camera remained the same, Apple updated the technology to make sure Face ID works more quickly.
