When Did iPhone 11 Come Out

Must read

Ram And Storage Space

iPhone 11 Unboxing – What’s Included!

The iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max appear to have 4GB of RAM that’s available to apps and the iOS system, but it is unclear if there is extra RAM that’s dedicated to the camera as rumors have been mixed. We’ll need to wait for more information to determine just what’s inside.

Leaked benchmarks have indicated that there’s 4GB RAM in the two devices, but benchmarks are able to be faked. A leak from a Chinese source has said there’s 6GB, but it won’t be long before we know for sure.

As for storage space, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are available in 64, 256, and 512GB capacities.

Durability And Water Resistance: How Durable Do You Want Your iPhone To Be

If you do opt for the iPhone 11, you will miss out on a few durability features that are available on the newer iPhone models. One of the iPhone 12’s big improvements is the material of its display. Apple calls it “ceramic shield” glass. Made by Corning, the ceramic shield glass covering the phone’s display is apparently harder than most metals. Indeed, we can confirm that the iPhone 12’s ceramic shield is tough. Our iPhone 12 drop tests show it protected the hardware from drops as high as 9 feet. The iPhone 13 also has the same ceramic shield glass on its display.

So if you’re a big klutz and are prone to slips and drops, springing for the iPhone 13 or iPhone 12 is a wise move . Keep in mind, the iPhone 11 isn’t a delicate darling, either. It also survived CNET’s drop and water tests and earned a CNET Editors’ Choice Award. You can read our iPhone 11 review for more details.

Welcome To The New App Store

We didn’t get an iTunes refresh at WWDC 2017, but iOS 11 is giving us a brand new App Store on the iPhone and iPad.

The Today tab leads things off by refreshing its app picks daily and telling stories behind the top apps. The format feels very much like what Apple did in Music last year.

Don’t worry, every app will still have a product page, but iOS 11 is putting a lot of focus on the new ‘Games’ and ‘Apps’ tabs to spotlight the best in those areas.

Apple says the new App Store on your mobile devices is ‘designed for discovery’ and is a way to make app downloading exciting again, like it was nine years ago.

TechRadar take: We’ve looked around the new App Store on iOS 11 and like what we see for the most part. The updates tab isn’t as streamlined due to more white space among menus and larger text that spans more lines than before, but everywhere else there is of benefit. It’s about time things changed for this app.

Agree To Continue: iPhone 11

This iPhone 11 Pro comes with a rare mistake, sells for ...

Every smart device now requires you to agree to a series of terms and conditions before you can use it contracts that no one actually reads. Its impossible for us to read and analyze every single one of these agreements. But were going to start counting exactly how many times you have to hit agree to use devices when we review them since these are agreements most people dont read and definitely cant negotiate. Were starting with the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro, which will serve as our baseline.

To use an iPhone, you have to agree to:

  • The Apple terms of service agreement, which you can have sent to you by email
  • Apples warranty agreement, which you can have sent to you by email

These agreements are not negotiable, and you cannot use the phone at all if you dont agree to them.

The iPhone also prompts you to set up Apple Cash and Apple Pay at setup, which further means you have to agree to:

  • The Apple Cash agreement, which specifies that services are actually provided by Green Dot Bank and Apple Payments, Inc, and further consists of the following agreements:
  • The Apple Cash terms and conditions
  • The electronic communications agreement
  • Apple Payments, Inc, license

If you add a credit card to Apple Pay, you have to agree to:

  • The terms from your credit card provider, which do not have an option to be emailed

Final tally: two mandatory agreements, six optional agreements for Apple Cash, one optional agreement for Apple Pay

Release Date: September 16 2016

Just about a year after the release of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple once again unleashed a new set of its signature device. At first glance, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus dont appear to be all that different from the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, but there was one major change to the appearance. Apple got rid of the headphone jack. This was the first time in iPhone history that users would have to connect their headphones via BlueTooth, and the company was heavily criticized for this move.

However, most people liked what Apple did with the rest of the phone. For example, this was the first iPhone to be water and dust resistant, and the introduction of iOS 10 made apps such as Maps, Photos, and Music run more smoothly, and it also introduced some new features to Messages, such as special effects for messages.

As for other upgrades, the iPhone 7 received the usual gambit of improvements, such as an improved processor and better battery life. Screen sizes stayed basically the same, as did screen resolution and pixel density. In addition to screen size, the 7 Plus featured two rear cameras to help deliver even better quality images. However, beyond this, the two phones were pretty much the same. Here is a summary of the what was new with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus:

iPhone 6 And 6 Plus Upgrades And Improvements

The most noticeable difference with the iPhone 6 was the screen. The iPhone 5 gave us a 4-inch screen that was taller and made it easier for the phone to fit in our hands. However, with the iPhone 6, the screen was now 4.7 inches/11.9cm with a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels, and it continued to have 326 ppi. The iPhone 6 Plus, on the other hand, had an even bigger screen. It measured 5.5 inches/14cm with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, giving it a pixel density of 401 ppi. Apple dubbed this Retina display HD. Both screens had a sharper contrast, which made colors more vivid.

Because of their difference in size, the iPhone 6 Plus was slightly heavier than the iPhone 6. It weighed 6.07 ounces/172g. The 6 weighed 4.55 ounces/128g, which was 0.11 ounces, or 3 grams, less than the iPhone 5. However, beyond these superficial differences, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were identical.

Both offered an exciting new feature known as Near Field Communication . This enabled the iPhone to be used as a payment device, and it gave birth to Apple Pay, a service that allows people to pay for things by simply placing their phone next to a payment terminal. It took some time for this technology to become more mainstream, but part of the reason it did was because of the iPhone 6. Heres a summary of the improved specs for both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Here is what the iPhone 6 Plus could do as compared to the iPhone 5S:

Apple sold 5 million units of the iPhone 5 in its first week. The camera stayed the same but memory was boosted all the way up to 1 GB. You thought 3G was cool? Psh, the iPhone 5 had LTE connectivity. Hello, internet everywhere! Apple also introduced the Lightning connector with the iPhone 5. And for the first time, the screen got bigger! All previous generations’ displays were 3.5 inches, but the iPhone 5 was 4 inches.

iPhone Xs & Xs Max: September 21 2018

iPhone 11 Release Date Leaked

Skipping right over the iPhone 9, Apple announced the XS and XS Max at its September 2018 event in the Steve Jobs Theater. These models were well named, as they were definite upgrades along the lines of the iPhone X. Both models had the front-facing camera for Portrait-mode selfies. The displays were edge to edge, and it all looked great with the Super Retina HD display. The biggest upgrade might be the smallest the A12 bionic chip increased the processing power while decreasing battery drain.

Should You Still Buy An iPhone 11 Apple’s Older iPhone May Be The Best Budget

If you’re looking for an affordable iPhone with all the basics you need plus a few bonus features like a dual-lens camera, the iPhone 11 could be the best choice for you.

The iPhone 11 may still be the Apple smartphone for you, even though the iPhone 13 is here.

Apple’s iPhone 11 is two years old and now that the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro have arrived, is it still a good idea to buy the older iPhone? It’s a fair question to consider, especially since the iPhone 11, which launched at $799, has since been discounted to $499 on Apple’s website. Beyond price and your personal budget, the decision could depend on what features you need in a smartphone. You may even consider buying an iPhone 12 or an iPhone SE instead.

For instance, do you mind using an iPhone that feels a bit dated? Or do you think saving several hundred dollars is more important than carrying the latest smartphone? What about 5G — how important is that to you? If you’re shopping on a budget, the iPhone 11 is still a great choice. Although you’ll be missing out on some newer features, the iPhone 11 gives you all the basics you’d want from an iPhone, including battery life that’s on par with the iPhone 12, a great dual-lens camera that includes night mode and a processor that’s still fast enough for everyday tasks.

Apple Special Events are held every year to announce new products and accessories. These dates are important to know because you’ll be able to see just what the new iPhone model will have. Although not everyone is invited to these events, since they’re usually for media only, they are always streamed live, so you can tune in from the comfort of your own home.

Apple usually announces the new iPhones during a Special Event held in September each year unveiling:

  • New features
  • Pricing
  • Release dates

You can expect the newest iPhone models to be available for preorder shortly after and the actual phones to be shipped within weeks of the event.

Which One Is Best For You

Coming out a year after the hugely popular iPhone XR, iPhone 11 is its direct successor. The most affordable of 2019s iPhone releases, iPhone 11 is a perfect marriage of style and functionality, and a significant upgrade on iPhone XR.

Like iPhone XR, iPhone 11 is available in six vibrant colours, and features a dazzling LCD screen. But the aluminium back has been replaced with gorgeous machined glass. iPhone 11 has improved water resistance too, surviving for up to half an hour in 4 metres of water. The chipset has been upgraded to Apples new A13 bionic processor, and along with 4GB of RAM and a bigger battery, iPhone 11 is a more powerful beast than iPhone XR.

iPhone XR’s decent 12-megapixel camera has been replaced with a versatile wide and ultra-wide 12+12-megapixel dual array which will deliver much more detailed and impressive results, especially in low light. Plus the 12-megapixel front camera can shoot Slo-mo selfies and 4K video.

iPhone XR was Apples most popular iPhone to date, and iPhone 11 looks set to continue that success well worth an upgrade.

  • Zoom right out with iPhone 11s smart new ultra-wide angle lens for bigger, more dramatic landscape shots.

  • Enjoy peace of mind knowing your iPhone 11 will survive a drop into 4m of water for up to half an hour.

  • Look super cool in your Slo-Mo selfies with the impressive 12-megapixel front camera.

  • Choose from six vibrant colours.

iPhone 11 Review: Front Camera

Apple iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max review: great battery life ...

You could say that the iPhone XR’s 7-MP front camera was selfie challenged, but the iPhone 11 rectifies that with a sharper 12-MP sensor with a wider field of view. With a tap you can engage the wider angle or you can simply rotate the phone to landscape mode and the wide view will turn on automatically, which is a smart implementation.

But the one front camera feature everyone is talking about with the new iPhone is “slofies,” which are slo-mo selfie videos shot at 120 fps. I don’t know if the name will take off, but it’s a fun feature for those who want to add some drama to selfies.

For kicks, I took a slofie while trying to make a basket in the driveway behind my head. Apple makes it easy in the editing software to slow down just the bits you want. I won’t tell you how many takes it took to make the basket, but I like the detail in the shot, especially in the clouds behind me.

For regular selfie videos, you can shoot in 4K up to 60 fps, though if you want the same extended dynamic range offered by the iPhone 11’s rear cameras you’ll have to stick with 30 fps.

What Features Will The iPhone 13 Include

Because the iPhone 12 was a pretty radical upgrade , we don’t expect the iPhone 13 to be another huge step up. Rather, initial reports point to more subtle aesthetic enhancements. These include a slightly larger, thicker camera bump, potentially to accommodate LiDAR sensors a shallower selfie-cam notch and the potential introduction of an entirely new color.

Even on relatively subtle model changes, though, Apple still tends to throw in some excellent feature enhancements to try and convince you that it’s worth the upgrade. The iPhone 13 is rumored to possibly include some new camera features, like a periscope lens that enables a much better zoom range than current models support. It’s also thought that all four iPhone 13 models will include LiDAR technology which, in the 12 series, is only present in the two 12 Pro models.

iPhone 11 Review: Wireless

Apple is skipping 5G networking altogether for the iPhone 11, which is a bummer because you’ll miss out on the blazing speeds offered by phones like the Galaxy S10 5G, which can go as high as a gigabit per second. 5G networks are still being built out, and the modems that support multiple 5G bands are just now hitting the market. Still, if you want a true future-proof iPhone, you may want to wait for the iPhone 12.

The iPhone 11 supports 4G LTE, which offers decent performance but not the same speeds as the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. Why? Because while the new iPhone has 2x 2 MIMO antennas, the iPhone 11 Pro models offer 4×4 MIMO for better performance.

On the Speedtest.net app, the iPhone 11 delivered an average download speed of 13 Mbps over T-Mobile’s network in the same location in New Jersey, compared with 15 Mbps for the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Uploads speeds were a similar story, with the iPhone 11 averaging 5.4 Mbps to the iPhone 11 Pro Max’s 6.1 Mbps. That’s not much of a speed difference.

One unique wireless feature on the iPhone 11 is a new U1 chip for spatial awareness that uses Ultra Wideband technology. With this chip, the iPhone can accurately pinpoint the location of other U1-enabled devices for now, that just means other iPhone 11 handsets, and the U1 chip initially benefits just AirDrop at this point. Point in the direction of another iPhone 11, you can then share the files more efficiently than you could before.

A New Way To Use Computers

The birth of the revolutionary technology that would eventually power the iPhone didnt start with a grand vision for reshaping the way we communicate. It started with a plan to fix the most cumbersome parts of a computer: the mouse.

In 2003, Apple started internal experimentation to find a way to replace the mouse with a touchpad that offered much more control and flexibility. Their initial design, a tablet-sized, finger-controlled interface known as the Model 035, allowed users to pinch, scroll, and zoom all things that were currently unavailable on modern computers.

This project was eventually put aside though when it became clear that Apple had more pressing issues
