Is iPhone 11 Pro Bigger Than iPhone 11

Who I Am And Why It Matters

Why The iPhone 11 Pro Is Better Than iPhone 13 Pro

I am a tech blogger. I write articles for iMore about the iPhone and various accessories. I frequently use my iPhone to take photos for iMore articles. I tend to pick a more premium iPhone, because, well, I do love Apple products. And I do use them for my work here at iMore. My iPhone is part of my work, but more than that, it’s part of my professional persona. My colleagues by and large go for the highest-end iPhones, the latest and greatest. I definitely feel a bit of peer pressure here. We are pros, after all, we make a living with our tech, aren’t we the target market? Not to mention that we write specifically about Apple tech and lifestyle.

But I’m also a Gen X suburban wife, mom, and teacher. I’m no gamer, maybe a little Words with Friends, but that’s about it. I take a lot of photos, mostly of my travels, my kids, and my dog. I keep up with my mother via email, my friends on Facebook, my kids on Snapchat and Instagram. I’m not the typical niche tech nerd in every way. My family and IRL friends are not early adopters, and they hold on to their phones for years. I doubt most of them even notice or care when I upgrade my iPhone. Having the latest iPhone is not impressive in my social circles.

The Design The Big Difference

If before we said that the differences in terms of the screen were not appreciable at first glance, what clearly draws attention is the change in design between the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. This change was carried out by Apple with the iPhone 12 models and it has been extended to the iPhone 13 models. The novelty is square frames that, without any doubt, fit the iPhone wonderfully.

For its part, the iPhone 11 Pro Max maintains the rounded line that Apple introduced with the iPhone 6. This design change is not only an aesthetic issue, but also directly affects the feeling that users have when holding the iPhone in their hand. and even how comfortable it can be for both to use the device, although this is already a much more personal matter.

When talking about an aesthetic aspect such as the design of the device, we must also take into account the colors in which both devices are available. In this case the differences are very specific, since as you know, Apple always maintains a series of colors that are already the hallmark of all the devices of the Cupertino company. Both the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the iPhone 13 Pro Max are available in four colors, three of them are the same and differ in one, in the case of the iPhone 11 Pro Max you have night green , and on the part of the iPhone 13 Pro Max it stands out Alpine blue , the rest are as follows.

  • Silver
  • Gold

Design: Similar But Different

The most noticeable design change between these two generations of iPhones is the flattened sides on the 12 Pro series. Unlike previous iPhone models, the entire iPhone 12 lineup reverted to the flattened sides of the iPhone 4 and 5 generation of devices.

The metal sides on both generations are made of stainless steel , but Apple added a much better polish on the iPhone 12 series, making the stainless steel rails almost like a mirror. This means they’ll look excellent when clean but will inevitably be more prone to fingerprints and smudges.

The iPhone 11 Pro series were the first iPhone to adopt the frosted glass finish, and that finish returns on the iPhone 12 Pro models as well the frosted back means you’re going to encounter fewer fingerprints and smudges on the back of your phone.

This frosted glass finish is present on all four iPhone 11 and 12 Pro models the only difference between the two generations is the color choices. On the iPhone 11 series, you’re getting Silver, Space Gray, Gold, and Midnight Green, whereas the iPhone 12 Pro series is available in Silver, Graphite, Gold, and Pacific Blue.

Overall, these devices are similar in many ways, and it comes down to preference and color choices. However, if you want a better feeling phone, the iPhone 11 Pro series feels much more ergonomic with its curved corners and rounded sides. The iPhone 12 Pro series has a more refined design, which offers better protection thanks to its boxy structure.

Autonomy Is It Enough

Without a doubt, the iPhone 11 Pro Max marked a before and after in terms of autonomy . This was really the first iPhone that made it so that most users could not worry about whether they would have enough battery to get to the end of the day no matter what they did. That trail has been maintained by all iPhone Pro Max models since then, so obviously the iPhone 13 Pro Max will also give you a really fantastic autonomy so you can enjoy the device without worries.

Now, since both offer autonomy that, we could say is enviable, what does Apple say? According to the Cupertino company, in video playback the iPhone 11 Pro Max reaches up to 20 hours, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max reaches 28 hours. If we focus on video streaming the difference is great, with the iPhone 11 Pro Max having 12 hours and the iPhone 13 Pro Max up to 25 hours. Finally, in audio playback, the iPhone 11 Pro Max reaches up to 80 hours, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max reaches 95 hours.

As you have been able to read, there is a difference in terms of autonomy between both devices. However, the feeling of many users is not as great as what is on paper and the reality is that with both iPhones you will have that feeling that you can forget about the battery of the device during your day to day, enjoying the camera, screen and everything they can offer you.

iPhone 11 Screen Size Vs Pro & Max: Apple Retina Display Differences

The iPhone 11 is far more popular than the 11 Pro Max ...

Bigger doesn’t always mean having better technology, here’s how the iPhone 11, Pro and Pro Max displays compare on size, resolution and more.

Apple’s iPhone11 offers plenty of screen real estate and resolution, but the Pro and Max counterparts are on another level. When it comes to the iPhone 11, Pro and Max, each variant’s respective display makes all the difference. In fact, there are enough differences between the iPhone 11 Pro and the base model to warrant the apparent price disparity between them.

The A13 chipset utilized by the three iPhone 11 variants results in quite a subtle difference in terms of performance. However, the same can’t be said with the displays, which not only vary in size, but also in the technology being incorporated as well. While the iPhone 11’s screen might be slightly bigger than the Pro’s, that doesn’t automatically make it more superior. Aside from the potential health hazard it’s associated with, there’s actually a lot going on in the iPhone 11 Pro’s display in terms of visual improvements, such as resolution and contrast.

How Can We Unlock And Use The iPhone

This is surely the point where you can find the least differences between the two devices, not to say that there are none. When it comes to unlocking the iPhone, both the 11 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max models continue to have the technology and unlocking method that Apple introduced with the arrival of the iPhone X, leaving Touch ID behind and welcoming Face ID. , the most secure facial recognition method available on a smartphone today.

In addition, both the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the iPhone 13 Pro Max work in the same way and at the same speed, that is, it has not undergone any type of improvement . In addition, since both devices are all screen, the way to use it and the gestures to be carried out to do so have been maintained, again, since the arrival of the iPhone X.

    First Impressions And Design

Appearance wise, the new iPhones dont look drastically different from their predecessors, but there are some stylish new touches that set them apart.

Theyve still got the same rounded edge and glass backs that give a premium smartphone feel, but the glass of the iPhone 11 Pro now has a matte effect, which looks great in its new Midnight Green colour.

Its also available in Space Grey, Silver and Gold, with all four colours having a subtle, muted look.

The matte glass 11 Pro also feels less slippery and doesnt show any fingerprints, whereas the regular glass of the 11 does pick up a few as you’re using it. But that’s nothing a quick wipe can’t fix.

The 11 Pro has stainless steel edges to complete the premium phone feel. Weighing 188 grams, its actually a little bit heavier than the iPhone XS, but its really not something you’d notice. Its definitely still a very lightweight phone that feels great in hand and doesnt weigh down your pockets.

The iPhone 11 is a little bigger and bulkier than the 11 Pro, its glass back and brushed aluminium edges can feel a tad slippery when compared to the 11 Pro, but if you end up getting a case this wont be an issue. It weighs 194 grams so its a also heavier, but its not a hugely noticeable difference. And you do get more screen for your money.

iPhone 11 Vs iPhone 11 Pros: Sound

The iPhone 11 Pro Max has 23 percent more battery capacity ...

Last years iPhones had great sound thanks to a new stereo speaker system, but Apple has taken audio ever further with the iPhone 11. All models feature spatial audio, a 3D sound model made possible by a new sound visualizer. And with that comes Dolby Atmos support, which should sound crisper, clearer, and more immersive on all of the new iPhones. With two small speakers, the difference in quality wont be HomePod quality or anything, but sound should be improved.

    Performance Battery Life And Charging

iPhones are always blindingly fast, and this new generation is no different. The star of the show is undoubtedly the Apple A14 Bionic processor nestled inside the phones case. We first saw this chip in the new iPad Air 4, and its likely to be amongst the fastest processors of this generation. However, the iPhone 11 Pro is no slouch, and the A13 Bionic processor isnt going to be showing its age for a long time yet. Itll still handle anything you throw at it though the A14 Bionic will have the advantage.

Our concerns about the smaller battery in the iPhone 12 Pro have turned out to be mostly unfounded, with Apples new iPhone providing an easy days worth of power. Heavy days of use will see the battery drop into low power mode by the end of the day, but this isnt really worth worrying about. We do think theres less wiggle room than youd get with the iPhone 11 Pros full day battery life, but its not worth picking one over the other for. Youll enjoy the same decent 18W fast charging and Qi wireless charging on both iPhones, but keep in mind that the new iPhone doesnt come with a charging block.

As the iPhone 12 Pros battery has proven to be solid, were now changing this category to hand the win to the iPhone 12 Pros more powerful hardware. Its simply the most powerful iPhone out there, and that deserves to be celebrated.

    Color Finish And Extras

After six months of use without a case, the backs of both the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro still didn’t have a single scratch or scuff. The textured matte glass back on the iPhone 11 Pro feels soft, smooth and durable. The phone is easy to grip and never feels like it’s going to slip out of my hand . I’m happy to say that fingerprint smudges don’t accumulate easily.

The iPhone 11, meanwhile, has a glossy glass back, which does feel slippery in my hand and the phone is prone to smudges, too.

As far as colors, the iPhone 11 gets things more right than the 11 Pro. You can buy an iPhone 11 in six bright and fun colors. The 11 Pro is less flashy and comes in four rather serious finishes . In a perfect world, I could have the matte glass finish of the 11 Pro and the color options of the 11.

The iPhones have wireless charging and support fast charging, but only the iPhone 11 Pro comes with the 18-watt charger that’s required for fast charging. It’s aggravating that the 11 doesn’t come with this charger and that you’ll have to buy it separately if you want it. To make matters worse, Apple charges $29 for the 18-watt fast charger and $19 for the required cable, when cheaper compatible alternatives are available.Winner: On colors alone, the iPhone 11 takes this one.
