Reminders is Apples list management app. This article explains how to force Reminders to sync across devices.

Apples simple list management app, Reminders, debuted with iOS 5 on October 12, 2011. Although the app is useful, I ended up learning about its defects far too late. By the time I realized the app had some major issues, I had already accumulated huge lists. Although there are better alternatives, I decided to stick with Reminders and found workarounds to deal with the issues. I kept hoping Reminders would improve over time. Unfortunately, even after 6 years, Apple hasnt managed to fix critical issues with the software.

[Solved] How To Fix iCloud Reminders Not Syncing with ...

Reminders on iOS is often out of sync with Reminders on my other devices and iCloud. How do I force it to sync?

  • 1Hmm… I can’t provide an answer here because this question is protected? That’s dumb… how am I supposed to earn reputation if I can’t give an answer to a question where I found something valuable to share? Good job, Stack Exchange.

Opening up the calendar and allowing it to sync will do the trick, though oftentimes imperfectly.

To force calendar to sync, open it up and the tap “Calendars” at the bottom, then swipe down.

As far as “imperfectly” goes, I mean it doesn’t seem to sync all tasks all the time. I haven’t figured out what the pattern is there, but it seems that it’s usually recurring tasks that have issues.

After adding your calendar accounts directly to Fantastical you can use the app to send invites. Should You Upgrade Reminders

How to Sync Reminders and iCal on your Mac and iPhone or iPad

If you haven’t installed iOS 13, iPadOS 13, and macOS Catalina on all of the devices with which you use Reminders, and you rely on Reminders for your to-dos, then no, don’t upgrade just yet. Likewise, don’t upgrade even if you have updated everything if you have shared reminders with someone who hasn’t upgraded.

But if you and everyone with whom you need to share reminders have updated their devices, then upgrade away. Your existing reminders will be where they always were and you get a new set of capabilities that make the app better than ever.

Why Aren’t My Calendars Or Reminders Appearing In Fantastical

First, please make sure your data appears as you’d expect in the Calendar and Reminders app. If it doesn’t, make sure your accounts are configured correctly in the Passwords & Accounts section of the Settings app.

Once you’ve ensured your data is in the built-in apps, make sure you’ve allowed Fantastical to access your events and reminders. You can verify this in the Privacy section of the Settings app.

If your events or reminders still aren’t showing up, try turning your phone off and back on. You can do this by holding down on the power button and sliding to turn off the phone.

Why Do I Keep Being Logged Out Of Zoom

If you are getting frequent prompts to log back into your Zoom account, then this is caused by a device limitation imposed by Zoom: Zoom can only be signed in to one computer and one mobile device at a time. Zoom’s authentication system doesn’t yet support multiple devices of the same type being able to sign in to the same account simultaneously. Thus, signing in to Zoom through Fantastical one one device will automatically log you out on another device of the same type. We have reported this limitation to Zoom.

Tip : Check If You Have Multiple Accounts Attached To Reminders

NotifyMe: Sync Reminders Between iPad, iPhone & Mac via ...

You’ll be able to tell if your Reminders are spread across multiple accounts just by checking the app. Open Reminders, and check out how the front page looks. If you just see “My Lists” as well as the default categories, then you only have Reminders connected to one account or saved directly on your device.

However, if you see your lists separated by account name , then some of your tasks in Reminders may belong to those accounts and not iCloud.

Of course, this only applies to the accounts you happen to have on your iPhone at this given time. It’s possible you have other reminders attached to accounts that you aren’t signed into on your iPhone, or you have accounts that have Reminders integration disabled.

    No Reminders Syncing On Ios

Removed previous post, as i was seeing same issue but fixed by turnig off Apple Reminders icloud sync on all devices and turning back on. Some how they got out of sync and only one device was not syncing correctly . Unfortunately i had to redo all my Agenda reminders, but easy to fix.

I did however notice that when i create a reminder and set reminder for the same day i created , it is not showing in Agenda calendar slide out panel, but if i change remind date too tomorrow, it will show in Agenda calendar. Still trying to figure this one out as it maybe on user error side

Update resetting icloud did not fix issue I tested by creating a test reminder in apple reminders on mac, iphone, and iPad. Those synced flawlessly. I then did the same by creating a test note in Agenda with a reminder created in agenda and depending which device you are on they may or may not show in apple reminders. Attached are images of what I am seeing. Hard to explain.

    Apple Reminders Images

Mines created on iPad but no reminder shown on iPhone. Both devices running latest Agenda + OS versions.

But just to be sure, after the reminder is created on your iPad, it does show up in the Reminders app on your iPad in the correct list with the correct date and time to etc correct? It just doesnt sync if I understand correctly? Also, does editing and saving the reminder in the Reminders app then still make it show up on the other device?

Tip : Make Sure New Reminders Are Going Where They Should

When you craft a new reminder with multiple accounts enabled on your iPhone, iOS will place it in a default list unless you intervene. That default list really acts as a default account since lists belong to accounts. So, if your default list is attached to your Yahoo account, new reminders won’t go to iCloud unless you manually switch it every time.

If you know you’ll want most of your reminders to go to iCloud, head to Settings > Reminders > Default List, then select the list you think the majority of your reminders will go to. The next time you make a new reminder, you’ll see that list as its current destination. Of course, you can change that yourself by tapping “List” in the reminder’s details, then tapping the list you want that particular reminder to go to.

The exception here is creating reminders with Siri. Siri places your reminders in the default list, with no option at the time to change it. Just something to keep in mind!

What To Expect After You Upgrade

Here’s what you can expect after you upgrade your reminders:

    • iCloud reminders are available on your other devices only if they’re running the latest software.
    • iCloud reminders created on a device that’s running earlier software are visible only on other devices running earlier software. When you update a device to the latest software, new reminders on that device will be merged with the upgraded reminders and will be available on all updated devices.
    • If you create new iCloud reminders on a secondary device that’s running iOS 13 or later or macOS Catalina, but you haven’t yet opened the new Reminders app on that device for example, if you used Siri to create reminders those reminders will be lost when you open the app for the first time. To avoid this, open the Reminders app once before you create any new reminders on an updated device.
    • You can’t see iCloud reminders in Outlook when using iCloud for Windows on your PC.
