Fastest Performance In Any Phone

iPhone 7 Plus vs iPhone 11 Speed Test!

Its no secret Apples custom A-series Bionic system-on-chips in its iPhones run laps around Qualcomms best Snapdragon silicon.

Last year, Apples A12 Bionic chip left the best Android phones with Qualcomms Snapdragon 845 chip in its dust, and its widening that gap even further with the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Maxs A13 Bionic chip.

The 64-bit A13 Bionic still has two performance cores and four high efficiency cores, but this time they have 20 and 40 percent faster CPU performance, respectively, while also being 30-40 percent more power efficient.

Apple says the A13 Bionic is the most powerful chip in any smartphone and my own tests confirm the iPhone 11 Pros indeed maintain the companys lead over the latest Android phones.

To see how the beefy iPhone 11 Pros compared to the iPhone XS and latest Android phones, I fired up Primate Labs latest benchmarking app, Geekbench 5, and ran the CPU test.

Based on an average of three tests, the iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 13 scored 1,335 on the single-core test and 3,489 on the multi-core test. The iPhone 11 Pro Max scored 1,336 on the single-core test and 3,499 on the multi-core test. Both of these CPU tests confirm the A13 Bionic is 20 percent faster on single-core and 32 percent speedier on multi-core than the iPhone XS running on the latest iOS 13.1 developer beta 3, which racked scores of 1,112 on single-core and 2,649 on multi-core.

The iPhone 11 Pros are the most powerful smartphones to date.

The iPhone 11 Pro Comes With Night Mode

As strong and versatile as the cameras on iPhones have been for the last few years, one weakness has been low-light photography. Usually when I took a quick snap of friends out for drinks in a cozy warm bar with dim lighting, the iPhone’s strong noise reduction helped as much as it hurt. Low-light photos on the XS came out soft and looked like paintings.

Night Mode changes all this. It can brighten photos and reduce image noise and best of all it does all of this automatically. The way it works is when you open up the default camera app up it determines when it’s dark enough to go into Night Mode. At this time, there isn’t a manual way to trigger Night Mode.

Night Mode uses adaptive bracketing and takes a series of photos some with a longer shutter speed others with a shorter one. The iPhone 11 Pro then fuses all the photos together to reduce motion blur and brighten shadows. When I handheld Night Mode shots the sequence would take about 3-5 seconds. When I put the iPhone on a tripod I got a 10-second time and was even able to manually override that for a 28-second Night Mode shot.

I took a photo of a tree in my backyard that was in complete darkness. Check out the results below.

This tree was in complete darkness in my backyard and yet, this was the photo the iPhone 11 Pro captured with Night Mode.

I’m excited to try out Night Mode against the Pixel 3 and Huawei P30 Pro.

The iPhone 11 Pro Has A Gorgeous Oled Display

The iPhone 11 Pro has a 5.8-inch OLED screen, while the 11 has a 6.1-inch LCD display. When I look at the phones side-by-side, the screen on the 11 Pro looked better, brighter and showed off more details. It is a joy to watch videos and edit photos on.

The OLED screen on the 11 Pro supports HDR and has a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 compared to the 11’s 1,400:1. On paper that means the iPhone 11 Pro is capable of darker black levels and more color saturation. That said, side-by-side, the differences between the two screens are sometimes hard to notice. In and of itself, the colors on the iPhone 11’s LCD are accurate and videos look good.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 6.5-inch OLED that has the same pixel density as the iPhone 11 Pro.

Winner: The screen on the iPhone 11 is good, but the one on the 11 Pro is even better.

iPhone 11 Vs iPhone 11 Pros: Battery Life

The iPhone XR and XS releases introduced us to an upside-down world where Apple’s least expensive model, the iPhone XR, also had the longest-lasting battery. Apple says the XR was the longest lasting iPhone it ever built, and the company wasn’t kidding it turned in a time of 11 hours, 26 minutes on our battery test, which was nearly an hour better than the iPhone XS Max’s result.

Order was restored to the universe with the iPhone 11 lineup. The iPhone 11 Pro Max takes the long-lasting iPhone crown by lasting an average of 11 hours and 54 minutes while continuously surfing the web over LTE. The iPhone 11 also turned in a good result of 11:16, though that’s a few minutes behind the XR’s result. Both those iPhones landed on our list of the best phone battery life we’ve seen on devices tested in the last 18 months.

The iPhone 11 Pro improved upon the below-average result of the iPhone XS, though at 10:24, its result was still roughly an hour behind the regular iPhone 11.

The iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max charge faster out of the box. Those models ship with an 18-watt charger. On the iPhone 11 Max, we got the battery up to 55% after 30 minutes of charging good, though the Note 10 Plus and OnePlus 7 charge faster. The iPhone 11 supports faster charging, too, though you’ll have to buy your own 18W adapter.

How To Fix Overheating Issues In iPhone 11

Now that you have been acknowledged the reasons which can cause overheating in iPhone 11, it will be easy for you to fix the problem. Check out some of the easy ways to fix the overheating issue, if your iPhone 11 is Hot when used:

  • Force Restart Your iPhone

  • If you want to cool down your device, then you have to force restart it. You need to press and release both volume up and volume down button. Now, you can press the side button until you get Apple Logo appeared on your screen.

  • Turn-Off AirDrop and Bluetooth

  • The iPhone 11 overheating issue can be resolved by using this trick. Sometimes, you keep Bluetooth and AirDrop running in the background that can cause overheating. You need to turn them off if you do not need to use them. You need to touch the upper right end and swipe it down. You will find Bluetooth and Airdrop icons there. You can disable them to reduce the heat issue.

  • Check for Possible External Damages

  • You should check out the common, physical, and environmental factors that trigger the heating issue. You should keep your device within optimum operating temperatures. Too hot and too cold climate may cause a device to change its behavior to regulate temperature.

You can reduce and avoid external heat factors by following some useful tips:

  • Disable Location Services

  • Stop Overcharging Your Phone

  • Uninstall Unnecessary Apps from the Device

  • Make Use of Low Battery Mode

  • Disable Unwanted Apps in the Background

  • Truedepth Camera And Face Id

Face ID, introduced in 2017, is the biometric authentication system used in the iPhone 11, which features a notch housing the True Depth camera system that enables Face ID.

In the iPhone 11, the TrueDepth camera system has been improved with new hardware. It’s faster and it’s able to work from a wider range of angles, so it’s more efficient and quicker than ever.

Face ID is used across the iOS operating system for tasks like unlocking your iPhone, allowing access to third-party passcode-protected apps, confirming purchases in iTunes and the App Store, and authenticating Apple Pay payments.

Face ID works through a set of sensors and cameras built into the front of the iPhone 11, called the TrueDepth Camera system. To create a facial scan, a Dot Projector projects more than 30,000 invisible infrared dots onto your face, which are then read by an infrared camera.

This depth map of your face is then relayed to the A13 Bionic processor where it is transformed into a mathematical model that the iPhone uses to make sure it’s you attempting to access your iPhone.

Face ID uses infrared, so it works in low light and in the dark, with a built-in Flood Illuminator making sure there’s always adequate light to take a facial scan. Face ID works with hats, beards, glasses, sunglasses, scarves, makeup and all other accessories and items that might partially obscure a face, but it does need to see your eyes, nose, and mouth to work.

Enhanced Dynamic Range Comes To 4k 60fps Video On The 11 Pro

I really like the video quality from the iPhone XS. The iPhone 11 Pro’s video doesn’t look drastically different. If anything the colors look less punchy than those from the XS.

The iPhone XS had extended dynamic range, which helped keep highlights from blowing out to white and shadows from turning black. It worked on all resolutions and frame rates except 4K 60fps. The 11 Pro now includes extended dynamic range for 4K 60fps. I shot two videos at that frame rate and resolution with both phones on a sunny day. In the video from the XS the sun is blown out to a soft white blob. The iPhone 11 Pro’s video handled the sun better and kept it looking like a circle.

Like photos, my favorite new thing is that you can shoot video with the ultrawide lens. Movements become much more dramatic when you pan across a bunch of trees in the Presidio or walk under branches.

iPhone 11 Vs iPhone 11 Pro: Which Should You Buy

iPhone 6S Plus vs iPhone 7 Plus vs iPhone 8 Plus iOS 11.2

For many people, the iPhone 11 is an excellent smartphone, even in comparison to some of the more powerful features of the iPhone 11 Pro. While you miss out on the triple-lens camera setup, you still get the ultra-powerful A13 Bionic processor as well as features like Portrait mode and Smart HDR.

The iPhone 11 is also made even better by the $50 price drop it received in comparison to last years iPhone XR. At $699, its far more appealing than the $999 or $1099 introductory prices for the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Again, the higher-end price of the iPhone 11 Pro doesnt come without higher-end features. For instance, you get the triple-lens camera setup, the improved display, the more premium design, and more. Its ultimately up to you to decide whether or not those features are worth the added $300+ in price, but for most people, the iPhone 11 will certainly suffice.

If you want the biggest iPhone possible, whether it be in terms of storage size or screen size, the iPhone 11 Pro Max is your best choice. On the other hand, if you want the smallest screen size, the iPhone 11 Pro is the best choice at 5.8-inches. If you want the widest color selection possible, then the iPhone 11 is your best bet.

What do you think of the iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 Pro argument? Which do you prefer? Let us know down in the comments.

iPhone 11 Pro Next Gen Smart Hdr

Smart HDR is probably the thing that will affect your photos more than Night Mode or the ultrawide-angle lens. The iPhone XS uses Smart HDR to make photos look better by adjusting colors and exposure. In many situations, however, colors and white balance look off to me. Also, it seems like Smart HDR on the XS reduced the contrast giving photos a weird flat look. These changes are not as obvious, but the adjustments Apple made to Smart HDR for the 11 Pro are appreciated.

    The iPhone 11 Pro has a new version that pulls back the aggressiveness of Smart HDR. Overall photos looked more natural. Highlights in particular looked more true to life. In the pictures below, notice the difference in the yellow paint on the Willys Jeep. The photo from the iPhone XS reduces the highlights on the truck and makes the yellow paint look almost like a matte finish.;

In the photos of the doughnut below you can see how the XS image looks a little flat. The iPhone 11 Pro has a bit more pop. Also, notice the natural bokeh of each of the lenses on the wide cameras. The bokeh on the iPhone 11 Pro is buttery and smooth, while the bokeh on the XS is a bit more crunchy.

The iPhone XS shoots all photos in Smart HDR. The iPhone 11 Pro on the other hand shoots in one of three modes . There’s Smart HDR, Night Mode and a third mode called Deep Fusion, which is a brand-new image processing technique. Currently, Deep Fusion is available in the public beta of iOS 13.2.

iPhone 11 Vs iPhone 11 Pros: Design

Apple didnt deviate too much from the formula it presented in the iPhone XS and XR. That means in terms of body size the entry-level iPhone 11 is sandwiched between the new Pros, despite costing significantly less. Heres how the three phones measure up:

    • iPhone 11: 75.7 x 150.9 x 8.3mm
    • iPhone 11 Pro: 71.4 x 144 x 8.1mm
    • iPhone 11 Pro Max: 77.8 x 158 x 8.1mm

Despite the differences in size, the three phones all share the same aesthetics, with a notched display and an all-glass back with a new square camera array. The 11 Pros, however, features stainless steel sides while the iPhone 11 has aluminum sides. The cheaper iPhone 11 also has slightly thicker bezels, but all in all, theyre very similar in appearancethe iPhone 11 even has the same square camera bump as the Pro, despite only having two lenses.

    iPhone 11 Camera Night Mode

Night mode activates automatically should the iPhone 11 detect that youre shooting in low-light conditions. The phone will automatically decide how many seconds it needs to shoot for the ambient lighting conditions but you can take further control by tapping the night mode icon and using a slider at the bottom of the screen. You wont be able to set it to any longer than the automatic setting, but youll be able to set it to shorter if you prefer. The longest available speed will be determined by how much light is available in practice Ive not seen it reach any longer than around 4 seconds in most conditions. If you attach the iPhone 11 to a tripod itll automatically boost the time to the maximum available.

iPhone 11 vs Pixel 3 iPhone 11 vs Huawei P30 Pro

Its a little disappointing not to be able to use the ultra wide angle camera with Night mode something which you can do with the Huawei P30 Pro.

The results are impressive though especially when there is a just a little bit of light to work with. Its a clean and crisp effect which although is possibly a tad oversharpened, is rendered very well on the iPhone 11s screen. By contrast with the Huawei P30 Pro and the Pixel 3, the results are very good, indeed theyre very similar. There seems to be more detail retained with the P30 Pro, but thats something which is only hugely noticeable at larger sizes than a phone screen.

    Cracked Screens And Waterproofing

We put both the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro through a test where we dropped them from different heights. After dropping them from 3-feet, 6-feet and 8-feet off the ground both phones survived without a single crack to their screens or glass backs. The only blemish was a small scuff to the iPhone 11’s aluminum band and a few damaged pixels on the bottom of the 11 Pro’s screen.

As far as water resistance, both of these phones are rated IP68. Apple claims the iPhone 11 can withstand being submerged at a depth of 6.5 feet up to 30 minutes and the 11 Pro can survive at a maximum depth of 13 feet up to 30 minutes. However, in our water tests with an underwater drone, the 11 and 11 Pro both survived being submerged for 30 minutes at 39 feet .
