Export The Facebook Calendar

First, you need to export your unique Facebook calendar information:

Look for the gear located on the right side of the page and click on Export.

A small popup will be on screen with two links, one for Birthdays and another for Events. Copy the link for your friends birthday.

Admittedly, this is a little bass ackwards. In order to add a birthday to your calendar on your iPhone, you have to actually go into your Contacts and edit a persons information there. Adding a persons birthday there will then translate to your Calendar app.

Scroll down a bit to the add birthday option to add this persons birthday

The best way to increase your privacy is to hide your full birth date .

If you cant live without the birthday wishes from friends, family, and connections you dont even know, then at least hide the year of your birth date. People will still be able to see the month and day, so theyll still know when your birthday is. Or, you could set your birthday to a day thats a few days before or after your real birthday. Youll still get birthday wishes, but wont be revealing your true birthday.

Another option is to change your birthdate and set a false birthday. I should point out that this is against the terms of service of some websites, , which require that you provide accurate information about yourself.

Dont post your age on or around your birthday . It doesnt take much brainpower for someone to figure out your birth year from that, even if you havent entered it explicitly.

Dont reveal your birth date in photos. Imagine that you post photos of your birthday party, and in the photos are cards, or balloons, or a cake that says 30,40,50, or whatever your age is. If those photos contain the date they were taken, someone can easily figure out your birth date.

If other people reveal your age in their posts or comments, delete them if you can. If you cant, contact the person and politely ask them to delete their post or comment because youre concerned about identity theft.

How Setup Birthday Alerts On iPhone

In addition to displaying birthdays on iPhone Calendar, you may want to setup birthday Notification Alerts on your iPhone. This will provide you with additional protection and make sure that you do not forget birthdays.

Open Settings on your iPhone and tap on Calendar.

On the next screen, scroll down and tap on Default Alert Times.

Next, tap on Birthdays and on the next screen, choose when you would like to receive Birthday notifications on your iPhone.
