How To Download Instagram Photos On Ios iPhone

Instagram makes this process as difficult as possible for iOS users. There are different apps that have claimed to make this easier at various points in time, but most of them have been removed from the app store.

New ones tend to crop up now and then, but never stay up for long.

The workaround that is guaranteed to do the trick on any iPhone, without downloading any additional apps, is this process:

  • Go to the Instagram photo that you want to save.
  • Screenshot it by pressing your Home button and your Sleep/Wake button at the same time.
  • Go to your Photos app and pull up the screenshot image you just took.
  • The bottom of your screen should have four buttons. Tap the one that looks kind of like an abacus .
  • On the bottom left of the new menu that appears, there should be a little square with arrows circling it. This is the Crop and Rotate button. Tap it.
  • Adjust the frame until all the Instagram page stuff surrounding the actual image is cropped out.
  • Tap Done in the bottom right.
  • We definitely agree that its annoying that this is the only method that is guaranteed to work, but its what iOS users of Instagram must do if they want to download a picture.

How To Bookmark Photos On Instagram

Downloading an image isnt the only way to save it. If you want a quick way to find a photo later, but you dont need it physically stored on your phone, you can bookmark it in Instagram. Instagram has the ability to organize saved posts, a bit like Pinterest boards.

Using the bookmark feature, you can save photos to recall them later, like putting;images tagged #foodporn into a folder of restaurants youd like to try or saving those epic landscape shots to a folder of dream vacation ideas. This feature makes your favorite grams easy to access, but unlike downloading them, youll only be able to access them within Instagram.

Below the image you want to save, tap the Bookmark icon on the right if youre in the app or below the photo on the website. The photo is now saved, but if you would like to organize your saved Instagram photos, tap the Save to Collection;that pops up in the app. Click the Plus Sign icon to create your own collection.

To view, edit, delete, or organize your Instagram saves, navigate to your profile, and tap the Saved icon above your images on the website. On the app, go to your profile page, tap the menu, and go to Saved.

Almost Got All Of My 5 Stars

I was going to give all 5 stars because I love this app. It lets you post to your feed or on your story and its pretty fast in doing so. But the last 3-4 days I have not been experiencing the same thrill. It had started asking me to login in order to repost and I was already logged into this app and Instagram. And this app has began to leave me with a harkened blank screen when I copy the link from Instagram and select to open this app. It does it when the app is already open and I try to repost also. I have to literally close out he app and reopen it and hen the copied post is there. Its very annoying and I may look for another app but in case. Sorry guys I was giving a 5 but I cant now.

In addition to the default Saved list, you can create and manage additional Collections on this page. These are handy for collecting posts around a certain theme, such as ideas for a wedding.

When you tap the Bookmark icon on an Instagram post, you can then choose Save to Collection to put it somewhere else. Tap a collection from the list that appears, or hit the Plus icon to make a new one.

To save any post to your Saved tab, tap the bookmark icon in the bottom right corner. To get to this tab, tap the menu button from your profile page, and then Saved.

No notification will be sent to the user who posted it.

    • You need an internet connection to be able to revisit the saved post within the app
    • The saved image will disappear if the user who posted it deletes it. Remember, using the bookmark feature is just a link to the photo. Nothing gets saved to your account or your device.

On the other hand, if you want to follow the comments on a popular post, you can save the post and return to it later to read new comments, which is at least one very helpful way to use it.
