If youre not in the market for the very latest and greatest and most expensive but still want an iPhone, and yet dont want an itty-bitty 4in touchscreen from the iPhone SE, youre left looking at the rest of Apples legacy range. And you can pick up a reconditioned iPhone 7 Plus for around $300!

iPhone 12 Pro Max 25x Zoom
The 2.5x optical zoom works well but it doesn’t perform miracles. I took great pictures of the Henry Hudson Bridge with the 12 Pro Max. It easily kept the landscape in focus with the wide-angle lens and the 2.5x zoom lens.
But while I could easily see, with my naked eyes, a pair of people in canoes paddling down the Harlem River in front of the bridge, the 2.5x lens wasn’t powerful enough to pick them up in a photo.
By contrast, Samsungs Galaxy S20 Ultra includes a 10x zoom, and the Galaxy Note20 Ultra has a 5x zoom. So if getting super-close to your subjects is a really big deal for you, you might want to think about one of those. Or better yet, use a real camera.
The final big difference between the phones is battery life, and it could prove to be the deciding factor for many people. The jumbo-sized 12 Pro Max logged a whopping 41 hours in our testing, a total of 7 hours more than the iPhone 12 Pro.

As much as we love all Apple iPhone models here at Back Market, there are a few models that we wouldn’t suggest due to their age. The iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, and iPhone 6 are all still really cool, but we wouldn’t suggest getting one of them to use as an everyday handset because they are no longer able to run the newest version of Apple’s iOS operating-system. But if you do find a really good deal and decide to get one of these phones, they should still be able to work with carriers like Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT& T, but make sure to confirm with a sales rep at an official location first. Just keep in mind that not all of these phones will be able to receive 4G LTE data signals and therefore won’t be able to load videos or web pages as quickly as the cheap iPhones we recommended.
