To Be With A Carrier Or Not To Be
You can buy a new smartphone in two ways. Either your new iPhone comes with a mobile carrier, or it comes unlocked. Let us explain.
Carrier iPhones, as the name suggests, are iPhones bought from a mobile carrier. The most popular carriers as of this writing are AT&T or Verizon. The advantages of buying a phone from a carrier are many, but the primary one is to do with cost.
When you buy a smartphone from a carrier, you wont have to pay for the cost of the device outright. Its especially helpful when the smartphone in question is expensive. Instead, what the carrier asks you to do is pay a certain amount of deposit in the beginning and then pay off the rest of the amount over time.
Moreover, buying a phone from a carrier also ensures a level of support for your device. The carrier service will guide you through any issues you might face after buying the phone. They often also offer insurance plans which are more comprehensive than the ones offered by manufacturers.
But therere problems with carrier phones too. Because theyre locked to a carrier, its almost impossible for you to change carriers unless you pay off the phone. Carriers are offering to pay for your phone upfront because they want you as a customer, so theres no way they will make it easy for you to change phones midway.

Not all iPhones have SIM ejector holes of the same size, but most of the time, the edge of a small, uncurled tool or paperclip is all you would need to do the trick.
Some paper clips have a thicker girth to hold a lot of paper together. Pick a smaller one, so it can fit into the SIM ejection hole without needing a lot of force. Also, use a paperclip that does not have a PVC coating as it can peel off in tight spaces and give you another headache.
Locate the SIM tray. uncurl the paper clip and point the long end into the ejection hole of your iPhone. Your card should come out without much difficulty.
Use a safety pin
Safety pins, like paper clips, can vary in size and circumference, to get the right fit use the smallest one you can find. They can bend pretty easily, so make sure youre gently applying force correctly when pushing them down the SIM card ejection hole.
Try Staples and Mechanical Pencils
Industrial staples are available at any office supply store, and you can find mechanical pencils with thicker lead virtually anywhere.
Prepare A Paper Clip Or A Sim
If you want to get the SIM card out of your iPhone/iPad, you need to prepare a tool to open the SIM tray in the device. If you buy a new iPhone or iPad, you can find a SIM-eject tool from the package. However, if you missing the tool or you dont have one due to some reason, you can also use a paper clip as an alternative.
If you decide to use a paper clip, you need to straighten the long end until it projects out like the above image showing up. If you use another tool like a needle, you need to make sure that it fits the hole of the SIM tray. Otherwise, the tool may destroy the card slot.
