What Does The New iPhone Update Look Like

Ios 152iphone Privacy Features Coming Any Minute Now

What The iPhone 11 Will Actually Look Like

Its nearly timeApples iOS 15.2 is going to arrive any minute now. And its certainly the biggest iOS 15 update in terms of privacy upgrades. The iOS 15.2 update comes with a bunch of stunning new iPhone features that are going to be game-changing for your privacy.

Better still, its coming very soon. The beta 4 version of iOS 15.2 has just arrived, which means we will see the new iPhone update within the next couple weeks.

Here are the biggest three iPhone features you can look forward to in iOS 15.2.

Ios 15 Review: Safari’s New Look

We can argue about what the biggest changes are in iOS 15, but there’s no question as to the most controversial addition. Safari in iOS 15 sports a new look inspired by Apple’s efforts to streamline the version of the browser in macOS Monterey. And I don’t think I’m going out on a limb when I say that this new approach is not going to be universally loved, especially when Apple has already introduced an option for rolling back some of Safaris new look.

By default, Safari’s tab bar lives at the bottom of the screen. Apple is betting that we’ll all get used to it, especially since placing the tab bar down by your thumb makes the browser easier to navigate with one hand. I certainly had no problem doing so with an iPhone 12 using the browser one handed on the iPhone 11 Pro Max was more challenging but still doable.

At least the tab bar is unobtrusive, disappearing into the bottom of the screen as you scroll through a page. Tapping the bottom causes it to pop back up again. And if you really hate the new look, Apple made a change to the iOS 15 beta that lets you return the tab bar to the top of the Safari screen if you prefer.

Speaking of those tabs, Safari also adopts a new grid view to show you an overview of any open tabs. This is a more handy view than the stacked windows featured in previous versions of iOS, as you can see all your tabs at a glance.

What Does The New iPhone Update Do

One of the biggest reasons why most people prefer to update their iOS device to the latest version is that the cool new features that often characterize these new versions of iOS.

But it is equally important to note that these updates often come with a lot of security features that are aimed at protecting the privacy of your device and numerous other improvements that can make your device even faster and more functional.

Some of the cool features that you can expect with the new iOS 13 include the following:

How Long Does It Take To Update iPhone Generally

To answer the question “how long does it take to update iPhone” we carried out some math. We noted down the approximate time fragments required to get through the OTA update process and came up with these numbers. Depending upon your internet connection speed, the iOS update download may take up anywhere between 2 to 15 minutes. Later, the installation may eat up nearly 5 to 20 minutes. Lastly, setup iOS 12 for first time use requires another 2 to 5 minutes. That concludes, 15 to 40 minutes is generally the total time consumed to get through an OTA update process.

Total Time Consumed 10 to 40 minutes

Note: The values defined above are not the exact values rather are just an approximate time frame you should keep aside, in general, when opting to upgrade your iOS firmware version. The time that iPhone update takes exactly cannot simply be defined because that varies from device to device.

How Do You Search Emojis On iPhone

Apple Confirms Delayed iPhone 12 Release

You can search for emojis on your iPhone, starting with iOS 14, so that you dont have to browse by scrolling through all of them. To search, switch to the emoji keyboard and type your search terms in the Search Emoji field. When you find the emoji you want, tap it to insert it into the message you are drafting.

Safari Explores A New Look

Safari has been entirely redesigned in iOS 15. In terms of material changes to iOS, this is the biggest, and its coming to what might be the most essential application on the platform.

For the iPhone in particular, that means an emphasis on a one-handed design that moves the URL bar to the bottom of the screen, adds a swiping gesture interface, and a tab grouping feature .

Im still getting used to it, even with a few days of use under my belt, and of all the additions in the latest software update, I suspect itll be the most polarizing. Over a decade of muscle memory has trained my brain to reach up for the menu bar on smartphones. I get Apples motivation in moving it to the bottom, making it easier to reach on the increasingly large phones it makes and putting the actual content of devices front and center at the top of the screen, its still a change thatll require an adjustment period.

iPhone’s Latest Software Update Has Left Everyone Saying The Same Thing

Apple has released iOS 15.1 and it’s the biggest change yet

  • 11:11, 6 DEC 2021

Apple has released a new software update on its iPhones and it’s left users baffled.

The new iOS 15.1 operating system includes built-in options for listening to music with others with playlist sharing and watching TV and movies with syncing.

For iPhone 12 models, there are updated battery algorithms that will offer better estimates of battery capacity over time. and for iPhone 13Pro users, this update beings a professional video recording format and the option to turn off auto macro for close up camera shots.

The update includes several bug fixes for issues with photos storage, the Weather app, the Wallet app, Wi-Fi, and more. It makes screen notifications stand out with new icons.

But the biggest change is the url bar. Safari has now placed it url bar at the bottom, instead of the top, of the screen for the first time and people are outraged.

Nicolette Ray wrote on Twitter: “Just realized the new iPhone update made safari place its url bar on the BOTTOM of the screen. What monster????”

“Omg I HATE the address bar at the bottom on the new iPhone update Apple whyyyy” wrote Pratiti.

“The new iphone update changed what notifications look like and moved the safari search bar to the bottom i feel like someone came to my house and rearranged my kitchen,” wrote another user.

Ios 15 Review: Using Shareplay

So what about SharePlay, a change so sweeping that it will also come to iPad, Mac and Apple TV software? Now that SharePlay is here, you can stream audio or video on a FaceTime call, and it will play for the other people you’re FaceTiming with, with playback synced up so that everyone’s watching or listening at the same time. You can also share your iPhone screen via SharePlay.

Other video chat apps offer similar features, whether they’re built in or available as extensions, but Apple including the functionality within its own video messaging app is significant. And Apple clearly has high hopes for SharePlay, as developers can build in support to their apps. Supported apps include the likely suspects like Paramount Plus and Showtime, but you’ll also find a diverse array of apps like Redfin, Night Sky and the Heads Up game taking advantage of the screen-sharing features of SharePlay. More apps are adding support all the time.

Most of my testing has been done using Apple TV Plus, where I watched an episode of Ted Lasso with two of my Tom’s Guide colleagues. Each one of us could control playback from our various devices. I could even resize the video window to make it easier to view Ted Lasso’s antics while minimizing the FaceTime window, and then flip around the sizes when I wanted to see my colleagues’ reaction. When FaceTime arrives, you can also switch to text or audio chats, so the video playback is front and center.

Ios 15 Review: Map Improvements

The New 2019 iPod Touch First Look: IT’S WAY FASTER!

Count me as one of the people who’s gotten over Apple’s stumble in moving away from Google Maps to its own mapping data nearly a decade ago in iOS 6. Maps has steadily improved, particularly in recent years, and I prefer it to Google Maps. It probably helps that I live near Apple HQ and therefore often get access to Maps improvements long before they roll out to other parts of the country.

Case in point withMaps in iOS 15: this new update adds more detailed 3D views of cities that include better landmarks, 3D buildings, clearly labeled commercial districts, more detailed roads and trees, with all that data collected from the vehicles Apple sends around to improve its master map. That feature is available in select cities, initially San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and London before it hits other places. Having gazed at downtown San Francisco, with a detailed Oracle Park nestled against the San Francisco Bay, I can tell you it’s a look that really helps you get a sense of place when you explore in Maps.

At least everyone with an iPhone XR or later will be able to experience the new interactive globe that’s now visible in iOS 15. Zoom out and you’ll see a view of the earth from space, complete with an accurate star field. Zoom in and you’ll see other details mountain ranges, deserts, ocean depths that are clearly labeled, making it feel like you’ve got an interactive relief map stored on your phone.

Confusion About Do Not Disturb

Apple has expanded Do Not Disturb in iOS 15. The feature is now part of the new Focus mode, which means it is possible to adapt Do Not Disturb settings depending on sets of circumstances.

However, Apple has removed one of the Do Not Disturb features – the ability to silence all incoming calls and notifications if your iPhone was locked. With this setting users could mute and hide all notifications just by locking their iPhone, then simply unlock the phone to see notifications on the screen.

The new Focus mode means that you either have all notifications or your notifications are silenced. Unlocking your iPhone doesn’t display them automatically.

iPhone 13 Review: Verdict

The iPhone 13 improves on what was already the best iPhone for most people by introducing a bunch of welcome enhancements. I especially like the longer battery life, as the iPhone 12s endurance was underwhelming even for a 5G phone. I wouldnt recommend that iPhone 12 owners upgrade to the new iPhone, but the iPhone 13 is worth it if you own an iPhone 11 or older device.

I dont think many people will care about the smaller notch. What truly stands out on the iPhone 13 is the camera. The low-light performance is even better now, and computational photography features like Cinematic mode and Photographic styles flex the A15 Bionics muscles in ways that go way beyond benchmarks.

Im also glad Apple doubled the starting storage at 128GB, as that move was overdue and puts the new iPhone on a par with Android flagships. Id like to see Apple offering faster charging next time around be it via USB-C or MagSafe as well as a 120Hz display.

The bottom line is that the iPhone 13 is a fantastic phone and raises the bar for what you think a camera phone can do.

Slightly Revamped Settings App

While there arent a lot of visual changes in iOS 15, we noticed a slight change in the way the Settings app looks on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The entire Settings UI seems to have shrunk slightly and now looks more compact. Apart from that, everything else looks the same as iOS 14. The notifications also look slightly different but well take more in detail about that in a separate section.

Ios 15 Review: Shared With You

This Could Be What Apple

Past iOS updates have introduced a lot of changes to Messages, as Apple’s chat app has evolved into a place where a lot of iPhone users spend most of their time. The Messages additions are pretty minimal in iOS 15, unless you’re hankering for new Memoji clothing and accessibility options. But there is one fairly significant addition Shared With You that also impacts a number of other built-in apps.

Now, when someone shares with you a web link, photo, song, or podcast, it will not only appear in Messages, but also in a Shared with You section in the relevant iOS app. The idea is that you don’t always have the time to look at what someone’s sharing with you right at that instant, but when you do have a free moment to look, you can find it more easily in the relevant app.

For example, when my wife finds a web article she thinks Id find interesting, the subsequent link now lands in a Shared with You section in Safari that lives on Safari’s start page underneath frequently visited pages and above the browser’s privacy report. Similarly, photos that my friends text me now get a Shared with You section on the For You tab in the Photos app. I can also pin these items in Messages to find them easier.

Here’s a closer look at how iOS 15’s Shared with You feature works.

iPhone 13 Known Problems

Thus far iPhone 13 owners have encountered a few problems. For example, some iPhone 13 users are finding that the phone won’t unlock with an Apple Watch, though a fix apparently is on the way. In addition, some iPhone 13 owners are complaining about the touch display not being responsive enough in some cases, which could be an iOS 15 issue.

On the iPhone 13 Pros, there are complaints that the cameras are automatically switching between lenses without warning, and Apple will be rolling out an update that will enable users to turn this off. And the ProMotion displays on the iPhone 13 Pros are not running at 120Hz with some apps, which Apple will be addressing in an update. And developers need to optimize their apps as well.

This allows you to scan for items nearby that might be tracking you.

What Does Ios 145 Include

iOS 14.5 adds new app tracking transparency policies, a major change Apple has been planning to roll out since it first announced iOS 14 last summer. App developers, like Facebook, will need to ask your permission in order to access your advertising ID. That ID allows them to track you across apps and websites.

Live Text Is Google Lens But A Few Years Late

Theres not much to describe here other than the fact you can now point your iPhone at text and directly copy it to your clipboard, search for it online, or if its a phone number, place a call directly from the dialer. All of this was already offered by Google Lens but the difference here is Live Text processes information on-device which means its more secure and works even without an internet connection. Not just text, but you can also scan animals or objects and look them up.

iPhone 13 Review: Performance And A15 Bionic

  • A15 Bionic is fastest chip once again
  • Machine learning performance notably better

The A15 Bionic doesnt offer dramatic performance gains over the A14 Bionic powering the iPhone 12, but it didnt need to just to remain the fastest chip in any phone. As with the A14 Bionic, the A15 offers a 6-core CPU and 4-core GPU, but theres now a 16-core Neural Engine for machine learning and AI, up from 8 cores on the previous chipset.

Apple says that the iPhone 13s CPU is up to 50% faster than the competition while the GPU can handle graphics rendering 20% faster. Before we get into the benchmarks, I think its important to talk about how swift this phone feels in everyday use.

In a game like Genshin Impact an open-world adventure combat title the animations and particle effects felt console-quality as I climbed mountains, explored sweeping landscapes and tried to battle enemies. I was equally impressed by the Seek app, which instantly identified plants when I pointed the camera around my backyard.

On Geekbench 5, which measures overall performance, the iPhone 13 scored 4,129 and 1,684 respectively. Thats considerably better than the 3,859/1,593 turned in by the iPhone 12, and it destroys the Galaxy S21s scores of 3,302/1,048.

The iPhone 13s graphics performance also impresses. On the 3DMark Wild Life benchmark, the new iPhone hit 55.9 frames per second. Thats just a bit higher than the iPhone 12 , but the Galaxy S21 Ultra mustered only 33 fps.
