Just six months after the release of the iPhone 6S, Apple decided to release yet another iPhone. However, this phone was not designed so much as a groundbreaking device but rather as a response to the market.
After selling 30 million 4-inch iPhones in 2015, Apple decided to introduce an upgraded version of the iPhone 5 largely because it has learned that some people just prefer smaller, more compact phones. The phone was upgraded as compared to the original iPhone 5, and it was designated SE, which means Special Edition. Here are the specs of the iPhone SE:

A Similar Single Camera
Like the previous-gen iPhone SE, Apple is sticking with a single 12-megapixel wide-angle lens. It will support an array of shooting modes, including the popular Portrait mode, and video recording modes like 4K, Slo-mo and Time-lapse. Because its the same lens, we dont expect giant improvements in how you shoot, though processing times for taking a photo should be improved, thanks to the A15 Bionic chip.
One key improvement with the cameras software will be the addition of Photographic Styles, which will allow the iPhone to customize how it takes a photo. You can select from a slew of styles like Rich Contrast before you take the shot, then you can switch on the fly. It will also support Smart HDR 4 and Deep Fusion, thanks to the new image signal processor inside the A15 Bionic.
Those with an iPhone 8, 7 or 6S or a first-gen iPhone SE will see some major improvements from the 12-megapixel lens as well as updated hardware.

Release Date: November 3 2017
After some years of releasing iPhones that were more or less the same as the previous years version but with slight improvements, Apple once again went for shock value when it released the iPhone X, a moment that was supposed to mark a new beginning in the history of the iPhone. Apple also broke with recent tradition when releasing this phone by only offeing one version of the device.
All versions of the iPhone that have been released since 2017 have been modeled off the iPhone X, and we can expect that to continue in the future. But no one really knows for sure.

As sales of the iPhone 4 continued to climb, consumers started to notice an annoying glitch when they held their phone in a particular way, they lost reception. The existence of this issue was repeatedly denied by Apple execs.
As public awareness and frustration with this issue continued to grow, Apple finally acknowledged it as a real problem.
Their solution was not well received Just avoid holding it in that way.

Will There Be An iPhone Se Max
We think so, yes, but dont expect it to arrive until 2021.
Its strange, give how neatly the iPhone SE replaces the iPhone 8, that there isnt a corresponding model to replace the iPhone 8 Plus. But the SE is available in only one screen size: 4.7in.
Pundits are in almost universal agreement that a larger version is in the pipeline, but they cant agree on exactly how much larger. Both 5.5in and 6.1in have their backers, and Apple itself may not have decided yet.
Its also expected to have a different design to the standard SE, with an all-screen layout and no Home button. It wont have Face ID, though there will be a Touch ID sensor in the power button on one side.
iPhone Se Review: Verdict
The $429 iPhone SE is a phone that straddles the future and the past. The A15 Bionic chip inside this phone delivers flagship power for hundreds less than the iPhone 13. And the image quality is mostly excellent despite being limited to a single rear camera. I just wish Apple found a way to include a proper Night mode.
And yet the design of the new iPhone SE looks like a throwback with its small 4.7-inch display and huge bezels around the display the iPhone 13 mini shows that you can cram a larger 5.4-inch display into a small phone, but it costs $699.
If you’re not insistent on buying an iPhone and living in the Apple ecosystem, the Google Pixel 5a is arguably a better bet, offering a larger 6.34-inch display, Night mode and considerably longer battery life for $449. But it’s also not nearly as fast as the new iPhone SE. However, the Pixel 6a is due to launch in July, which might give the new SE some more competition with its Tensor chip and dual camera system.
Overall, the iPhone SE mostly succeeds in terms of providing a great value. But next time I’d like to see a design that better matches the cutting edge vibe of the internals.

Apple tends to make larger leaps between the original model and the S edition than it does from the S edition to a new model. The iPhone 6’s internal specs were very similar to those of the iPhone 5s. The biggest difference was having a significantly larger screen and offering an even larger size called 6 Plus. The Retina display became HD, and the option to get an iPhone with 128 GB of storage became available. But the amount of memory was the same, and the camera didn’t see a megapixel upgrade. The iPhone SE has gotten a price hike over its predecessor to $429 / £419 / AU$719, but it still qualifies as Apple’s cheapest 5G phone. The iPhone 13 mini starts at $699 / £679 / AU$1,199 and the iPhone 12 mini starts at $599.
However, it is more than a little frustrating that Apple insists on offering a phone with just 64GB of storage to start. The phone shoots up to 4K, 60fps video. Where are all those files supposed to go? Apple’s iPhone 13 line now starts at 128GB across the board. That’s the standard Apple should’ve followed here. The issue is compounded because the iPhone SE tops out at 256 GB of storage , though there’s also a 128GB option for $479 / £469 / AU$799.
If you’re considering a 256GB iPhone SE at that price, then you really should start thinking about one of the iPhone 13 models.
The previous iPhone SE started at $399 / £389 / AU$679, and while asking for a little more for a 5G phone with the newest processor is not a big ask, consumers will notice the packaging is a bit smaller and lighter. The environment will thank Apple, but some consumers might be miffed that there are no longer wired earbuds and power adapters included with the device. That’s the same for the iPhone 13 series, but the omission still might sting for budget-conscious iPhone consumers who now have to buy the accessories separately.

Just As Poweful As An iPhone 13 Pro
The new iPhone SE moves from Apple’s A13 processor to the A15, for a signifcant boost in performance. The A15 is grossly overpowered to run this display and camera system it’s the same chip that’s capable of driving the iPhone 13 Pro Max‘s much higher-resolution screen and triple cameras flawlessly. Here, it hits the display maximum of 60fps at GFXBench’s toughest Aztec Ruins benchmark and absolutely crushes Geekbench.
The bottom line is that the SE 2022 is very, very fast, no matter what you throw at it. Take a look at the Basemark Web score below. Basically, web pages on this phone render as fast as your connection allows. The A15 also ensures that the phone is going to work well with iOS upgrades for at least the next five years.
The efficient A15 processor leads to notably better battery life compared with the older SE, too. On the 2020 iPhone SE, I got 5 hours and 57 minutes of video playback time over Wi-Fi on this one, I got 7 hours and 20 minutes. That result is still shorter than any other current iPhone, including the iPhone 13 mini , however. And given the power demands of 5G networks, I expect it to last around five to six hours of screen-on time over a 5G connection. So, despite the battery life improvement, you shouldn’t pick the iPhone SE if you use your phone heavily.
