How To Use Shortcuts To Automatically Change Your iPhone Wallpaper Every Day

Combining Shortcuts with stock image website Unsplash, you can automate iPhone and iPad to change your home screen wallpaper every day.
When it comes to customizing your iPhone or iPad, personalizing the wallpaper is common practice. Some use a recent photo, others use one of the default built-in options, and there are many wallpaper apps you can download for free.
All those options require some action on the user’s part, but iOS 14 added a new Shortcuts action that can change your wallpaper automatically and as often as desired. We’ve also combined this Shortcut action with the free image website Unsplash to use unlimited, high-quality photos as your wallpaper.
If you would like to download the Shortcut directly without building it yourself, you can use the link below. Be sure to enable external Shortcuts on your iPhone or iPad by going to Settings > Shortcuts > toggle on “Allow Untrusted Shortcuts.”
Resize Image To Fit The Background
Now youll see the rose photo on top of the texture photo. Id like for the roses to be the full size of the texture image so I must go to the Transform section. Transform is for panning, sizing and rotating the foreground image.
You can also flip the image vertically or horizontally, and if you decide you want to swap the the foreground and background images, you can do that here too. I simply want to fit this image to the background photo so I tap the Fit to Background icon at the top right.
Wallpaper Shortcuts To Try
Now comes the fun part: By adding various Shortcuts to your phone, you can choose which wallpapers to use. To install a Shortcut, just tap any of the links below while using your iPhone, scroll to the bottom of the Shortcut description, then select Allow Untrusted Shortcut. You can then choose whether the Shortcut will set your home screen, lock screen, or both.
Random Recent Photo: This Shortcut picks one of your 50 most recent photosnot including screenshotsand sets it as the background. Its not the fanciest way to set a wallpaper, but it works well if youre conscientious about removing bad or unwanted photos from your camera roll.
Random Portrait Photo: Same as the above, but just for photos taken with the iPhones Portrait mode.
Random Wallpaper: For a little more control over which photos get picked, this Shortcut selects a random image from an album called Wallpaper and sets it as your background. To use this Shortcut, youll have to create an album in Apples Photos app, make sure to name it Wallpaper, and add some images to it.
Reddit Nature Wallpapers: My personal favorite, this shortcut grabs a random recent nature photo from Reddits EarthPorn forum, then crops and resizes it to fit your iPhone display.

How To Set A Live Photo As The Wallpaper On Your iPhone
Starting with the iPhone 6s, Apple introduced a selection of free Live Photo Wallpaper images to bring color and animation to your iPhone background. You can use one of these free Live Photos as your iPhone wallpaper on your Home screen or Lock screen, although the picture will only move on your Lock screen.
