The iPhone also features an email program that supports HTML email, which enables the user to embed photos in an email message. In Mexico, the trademark iFone was registered in 2003 by a communications systems and services company, iFone. Apple tried to gain control over its brand name, but a Mexican court denied the request. The case began in 2009, when the Mexican firm sued Apple. The Supreme Court of Mexico upheld that iFone is the rightful owner and held that Apple iPhone is a trademark violation.

In the Philippines, Solid Group launched the MyPhone brand in 2007. Stylized as “my|phone”, Solid Broadband filed a trademark application of that brand. Apple later filed a trademark case at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines against Solid Broadband’s MyPhone for “confusingly similar” to the iPhone and that it may likely “deceive” or “cause confusion” among consumers. Apple lost the trademark battle to Solid Group in a 2015 decision made by IPO director Nathaniel Arevalo, who also reportedly said that it was unlikely that consumers would be confused between the “iPhone” and the “MyPhone”. “This is a case of a giant trying to claim more territory than what it is entitled to, to the great prejudice of a local ‘Pinoy Phone’ merchant who has managed to obtain a significant foothold in the mobile phone market through the marketing and sale of innovative products under a very distinctive trademark”, Arevalo later added.

Managing Your Icloud Storage

One important thing to keep in mind as you think about iCloud storage is that in most cases its not intended to be used as a substitute for your local storage on your iPhone or iPad. You can use iCloud Drive to save your data manually, but iCloud is mostly designed to synchronize and backup your information automatically.

For example, if youre receiving the message that your iPhone is almost full, buying more iCloud storage doesnt solve that problem by itself. This is because iCloud Backup mirrors what you have stored on your device locally. If youd like help managing your storage, read more here.

Well cover few different places to look to free up your iCloud storage, but outside of these if the majority is taken up by your device backups youll need to reduce the amount of content stored on your iPhone or iPad itself.

Managing backups

Once youre on the;Manage Storage section like the image above on the left start by taking a look at the various;BACKUPS. In my example there are two copies of my wifes backup, tap on any of them to get more details.

Youll notice that the;Last Backup date is 11/11/16, which isnt current, so Im all set to delete that one in particular and free up some iCloud storage. Go through and delete any old or unnecessary backups.

If that iCloud backup worked just fine, then great, you’re done. But I realize a lot of people won’t be able to back up to iCloud without a little work. You might see this message on your iOS device, “This iPhone cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage available.”

Look at the message below the Back Up Now button.

Every iCloud account gets 5GB for free. But most people have more than 5GB of data on their phone — or they have more than one iOS device that needs backing up. Hence, 5GB isn’t enough space. And maybe one day Apple will change its free tier to give us more data and make backing up easier for everyone. But until then, we need to do some calculations to optimize our iCloud accounts.
