How Does Apple Trade In Work
Whether youre making a purchase or not, weve made it easy to trade in an eligible smartphone either in a store or online. Just answer a few questions regarding model and condition and well provide an estimated trade-in value or a simple way to recycle it.
If you trade in online and purchase a new iPhone, well apply your estimated trade-in value to the purchase of your new iPhone. Then well arrange for you to send us your eligible smartphone. Once we receive it, well inspect it and verify its condition. If the condition matches what you described, theres nothing more you need to do. If the condition doesnt match, a new trade-in value will be provided.
Youll have the option to either accept this revised value or reject it. Well work with you to confirm that you still want to move forward with the trade-in.
If you accept the trade-in estimate in the store, well give you instant credit toward your iPhone purchase.
And if you choose to recycle your smartphone, well either handle it in the store or provide a prepaid shipping label so you can send your device to our accredited recycling partner.
Is 64gb iPhone Ok
64GB is the least amount of storage you can get on modern iPhones like the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12. And in most cases, 64GB should be enough for the average user.
However, there are a few things you NEED to keep in mind. Firstly, Apple killed 64GB on the iPhone 13 range. All iPhones now ship with 128GB as standard, topping out at 512GB for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini and 1TB for the iPhone 13 Pro models.
The second relates to how many pictures and videos to plan on taking? If youre a serial snapper, and you run lots of apps and games on your iPhone, youll probably need more than 64GB.
The third relates to downloading content and media onto your iPhone. If you like downloading and storing lots of files on your iPhone, from TV shows to films and videos, then 64GB might not be enough for you.
If you fit the above criteria, Id probably recommend that you go with a 128GB iPhone just to be safe. Apple doesnt include expandable storage on any of its iPhones, so you have to be careful with how you manage what youve got.
OK, so when is a 64GB appropriate? Simple: if youre a light user, somebody like my mum, then 64GB will be more than enough for you. What do I mean by a light user?
A light user is someone that doesnt take loads of photos and videos and, most of the time, uses their phone ONLY for IM, web browsing, email, and social media. A light user runs limited apps and doesnt usually have many games stored on their phone.
When Should You Get 64gb
You might want to get the 64GB now if you do not do any heavy file work with your phones, such as massive games or social media. With a few hundred photos, and around 100 apps, few videos, then get a 64GB iPhone 11. You do also have to consider the duration in which you are planning to use your phone, especially if it is not for more than a year, and you will not run out of storage space by then, then go ahead and purchase the iPhone 11 64GB. You might also want to consider your budget as the 64GB version is cheaper than the 128GB. So, what you do and how much you can afford are significant determinants here.

Why Higher Storage iPhones Cost More Money
When it comes to iPhone storage, youre probably wondering why higher storage sizes are so expensive? Well, there are two reasons for this.
The first reason is that Apple likes making money. This is why it has and always will charge a premium for its products. Do you really think the iPhone 12 costs Apple $799 to make? It is actually more like $100. But the RRP has to reflect costs associated with building and distributing the phone and also generate profit.
Apple also likes to ensure it has hefty profit margins on all of its profits, usually around 35%.
The second reason is to do with quality. Apple has to ensure that the memory it uses in its iPhones is flawless. It cannot afford the memory to break or get corrupted it has to work perfectly for up to a decade. This means it CANNOT use cheap memory. If it did, it would have QC issues and returns.
This is also why Apple doesnt allow microSD and/or expandable storage on its iPhones. It likes to control the entire experience. If you start expanding the storage on your own, youre stepping outside of Apples control. And Apple does not like this. If you want more storage, you have to pay for it.
Its as brutally capitalistic as that.

Do I Need A 256gb iPhone
If youre whats considered a pro user, meaning someone that runs a ton of applications on their iPhone, uses it as a storage device for work-related files and media, and also uses plenty of applications, then, yes, 256GB could be what you need.
256GB is A LOT of storage, though, and for most people, you wont get anywhere near this. Case in point: the iMac that I use for work, and havent audited in six years, only has 350GB of stuff on its hard drive, and while that is a lot more than 256GB, it just goes to show how far storage can actually go.
Where 256GB starts to make more sense is if you plan on running your iPhone for a LONG TIME. Like six years or more or until Apple stops supporting it with iOS updates. In this context, youll want as much storage as possible. And 256GB should do you just right.
Is 64gb Enough For iPhone
The 64GB iPhone 11 / Pro / Max is more than enough for all of your apps, countless hours of video clips filmed and tens of thousands of photos taken. You need to consider a higher storage option mainly if you plan on recording lots of 4K videos and to download plenty of movies, games and music on your phone.

What About A 512gb iPhone
Beyond 256GB of storage, we have Apples top-of-the-range storage option: 512GB which is just over half a terabyte of internal storage. This is a huge amount of memory it is more than some laptops. But you will pay top dollar for this amount of storage around $1399/£1399.
Who needs 512GB of storage on their iPhone? Honestly, Im not too sure. Even forum discussions on the subject seem to point to 512GB being complete overkill, meaning all the storage most people will ever need is 512GB.
I mean, look at it this way: with 256GB of storage, youll have enough room for 13,000 photos, 1000 songs, and 1400 videos on your phone. And even with all that, as well as all your apps and games, youll still have around 50GB of room left over.
The only upshot of having 512GB of storage is that youll have enough room on your iPhone to carry ALL your media with you at all times. That means all your downloaded movies and TV shows, all your ebooks, all of your podcasts, and all of your apps and games. And even then, youll still probably have plenty left over.
Most iPhone users seldom break the 256GB threshold, so, yeah you probably dont need to fork out for a 512GB iPhone any time soon.
Should I Charge My iPhone 11 Every Night
You can charge when its at 40% and disconnect when it reaches 80%, or any other values, without hurting the phone. The Best Practice, however, is to charge the phone overnight, every night. As it stops automatically at 100% you cant overcharge it doing this. You thus start the day with a fully charged phone.

Storage Sizes For The iPhone 12 Pro Series
Just as we have in the iPhone 12 models, so it is in the iPhone 12 pro. There are three storage alternatives for the iPhone 12 Pro models.
The storage size begins at 128GB as suppose to the 64GB we have in the iPhone 12 model. Following this is a higher storage size of 256GB and then there is 512GB which happens to be the largest.
Although, as the weeks go by, it is certain that there will be a reduction in the price of each model so, if you are big on storage space but you are not so boxed up to purchase one at the moment, you can take a chill pill till the prices drop.

How Much iPhone 13 Storage Do You Need
Can you get by on 128GB of storage? It’s not an academic question. Because the iPhone doesn’t include a microSD card slot for boosting capacity, the storage you buy at launch is the the storage you still have months later.
So if you opt for 128GB, you had better be sure that’s all you need. Determining whether it is comes down to your iPhone usage.
If you don’t have an oversized photo library that you insist on toting around on your phone or an extensive music library that you also store on your phone, 128GB is probably enough. Right now, my main phone is an iPhone 11 Pro Max. I’m using about 67GB at the moment, with around 550 songs, 800 photos, 20 videos and 40 apps taking up that space.
Even if capacity were to start to fill up on my iPhone, Apple has a few ways to squeeze more storage out of your phone. A temporary iCloud backup feature in iOS 15 grants you as much backup storage on iCloud for up to three weeks after you buy a new phone to make sure you can transfer everything you need to to your new device. Since iOS 11, you’ve also been able to offload unused apps to free up space on your iPhone.

iPhone Storage: 64gb Just Isn’t Enough Anymore
It’s time for Apple to raise its storage game.
Apple’s latest iPhones pack plenty of improvements. They’re more durable, they’re faster and their cameras are much more capable. At $699, the iPhone 11 is even cheaper than last year’s iPhone XR, at its $749 starting price. Yet one thing hasn’t changed: All new iPhones start with 64GB of storage space.
In an era when music and movies are streamed and photos are saved in the cloud, you can even argue that local storage is an antiquated system. It’s a valid argument if you’re constantly making sure your photos are being uploaded to or iCloud and are always connected to the internet to stream YouTube, Netflix, Spotify or Apple Music.
But most people don’t do that and plenty prefer the option to have music and photos at the ready whenever they want them. Not to mention games, which are similarly growing in size as the phones they run on become more powerful. Apple Arcade will soon have a hundred games at the ready.
The 64gb iPhone 12 Difference
Before we get stuck into the original article, it’s worth discussing the 64GB iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini. We haven’t managed to get our hands on an iPhone 12 review unit yet, but for the most part, we expect this guide to ring true for anyone considering upgrading the base storage model this year. The only thing that may increase the amount of storage we use, personally, is the iPhone 12’s nifty new video features. The iPhone 12 allows more editing options for video this year. You can add colour-grading effects and more on the fly, and export to HDR and Dolby Vision. We can see ourselves shooting a lot more video on our iPhones this year, but that might not ring true for you.
If you’re considering upgrading regardless, it’s worth checking out what each mobile provider is charging for the iPhone 12 on a plan .

Your Choice Of Storage: Icloud Or Locally
Your choice of storage, whether locally or on iCloud, will determine if you would need the iPhone 64 or 128 GB. On iCloud, you have unlimited storage space to store and backup as much as you want. You can store and backup your data such as photos, videos, documents, music playlists, applications, iBooks, and every other thing you purchase from iTunes. You can also choose to stream videos and music instead of downloading it to your iPhone.
iCloud also offers you access to as much as 5GB of storage space, which is free, and is expandable up to 2TB when you feel like doing so. However, you have to pay for any increase in the storage space. With the iCloud Drive application, you can easily save your phones internal memory and store your videos, iOS backups, your photos, your files, and any other bulky or not so heavy files you might have.
You can also use other alternatives such as Google Drive to save and backup your files. You can use OneDrive and Dropbox also as they all not only provide the option of storage and backup but can also stream your photos, videos, music, and many more.
Therefore, if you are a keen user of iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive, or other cloud storage services for accessing and storing your media, the iPhone 11- 128GB is the best option for you. If you do not really use these services, or you are keen on safety, iPhone 11- 256GB will be the best option.
How Much Free Storage Will Your iPhone 11 Have Out The Box
A smartphones operating system and core apps always take up some of its storage space out the box, and thus, youll never be able to use the full, advertised storage. For example, if you get the 64GB iPhone 11, about 7.50GB would be taken by what the iPhone classifies as System storage, so youre actually looking at 56.5GB of free storage.
In turn, if you get an iPhone 11 or an iPhone 11 Pro in 128GB, expect about 120.5GB of those to be free, and if you get a 256GB model 248.5GB. As for the highest and most expensive option of 512GB, youre going to have about 504.5 of those gigabytes for yourself.
Those numbers arent perfectly accurate, as preinstalled apps will also be taking some storage out the box, though you can remove what you dont need. And all of this is normal, and also applies to Android phones, but its a good thing to know when choosing your phones storage option.
