Is iPhone 11 Same Size As 11 Pro

The iPhone 11 And Pro Models Have Identical Rear Camera Systems With One Exception But The One Difference Isn’t A Dealbreaker

iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max Size Comparison

The iPhone 11 and 11 Pro models have a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The Pro models also have a 12-megapixel telephoto lens for zooming.

A telephoto lens is only good for optical zooming, which doesn’t lose any detail compared to digital zooming. But it’s not a must-have feature. In fact, if you really care about smartphone photography, you shouldn’t be using the zoom feature much to begin with.

iPhone 11 Vs iPhone 11 Pro Vs iPhone 11 Pro Max Camera

The iPhone 11 is the real odd one out when it comes to cameras as it has two lenses on the back, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max have three.

In all cases these are 12MP lenses, with the three phones all having standard f/1.8 and ultra-wide f/2.4 lenses, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max also get a f/2.0 telephoto one with 2x optical zoom.

The three phones all have a night mode, 4K video recording at up to 60fps, and a whole assortment of other modes that are mostly the same across the models.

While you get a better camera experience on the Pro models thanks to the extra lens, we were impressed with the photographic skills of all three handsets when we put them through our reviews, with low light shots even working well.

The addition of a telephoto lens on the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max definitely makes them feel like a more complete package, but youre also paying more, and the level of zoom on offer cant match, say, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

As for the front camera, thats 12MP too and as expected it powers Face ID . Speaking of which, Face ID has been improved on all three handsets – it’s now faster and works from more angles.

Battery Life And Charging

  • iPhone 11 Pro Lasts up to 4 hours longer than iPhone XS, 18W USB-C charging brick
  • iPhone 11 Up to 1 hour longer than iPhone XR, 5W charging brick

The iPhone 11 Pro brings a massive jump in battery life when compared to the iPhone XS by offering up to 4 hours longer battery life. The iPhone 11 also lasts an hour longer than the iPhone XR which was already known for its battery life.

The iPhone 11 will likely still offer the best battery life on an iPhone but this time around, the gap between the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 wont be as big as it was the last time around. Apple does claim the iPhone 11 Pro will offer longer video playback time than iPhone 11 but the latter should win in real-life use due to its more power-efficient LCD display.

The iPhone 11 Pro does have another advantage up its sleeve as well, it no longer ships with a 5W USB power adapter. Apple is finally getting around to bundling an 18W USB-C fast charger with the iPhone 11 Pro series. This means the handset will take only around 30 minutes to charge from 0-50%.

The iPhone 11 will continue to ship with a 5W USB-A adapter which means it will take its own sweet time to charge from 0-100%.

iPhone 11 Vs iPhone 11 Pros: Displays

It’s once again a tale of two displays for Apple’s different smartphones. Like the iPhone XR before it, the iPhone 11 makes do with an LCD panel, while the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max feature an OLED screen.

While little seems to have changed on paper about the iPhone 11’s 6.1-inch Liquid Retina, it turns out to be brighter than the one on the iPhone XR . The iPhone 11 registered 113% of the sRGB color gamut, which is nothing close to what you get with an OLED panel, though the iPhone 11’s colors are very accurate.

When you look at the Super Retina XDR display that graces the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, though, you’ll get a sense of why these models cost more. Both phones are super bright the iPhone 11 Pro hit 752 nits on our light meter, while the 11 Pro Max topped 761. These are the phones you’re going to want to take outside.

The colors on the Super Retina XDR display aren’t as vibrant as what you’ll get from some OLED panels, though that’s a deliberate choice Apple makes in tuning its displays to be less saturated. The colors are accurate, though, with the iPhone 11 Pro Max recording a Delta-E score of 0.28.

One thing we’ve noticed with all three phones now that we’ve tested them the spatial audio feature really makes a difference when you’re watching videos. The wider sound stage, along with Dolby Atmos support, puts audio all around you, creating a more immersive experience.

The iPhone 11 Doesn’t Have An Oled Screen Like The Pro Models But Its Liquid Retina Display Is Still Fantastic

OLED screens, like those in the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max, produce richer colors and deeper contrast so blacks, in particular, really look inky and not gray.

While the LCD screen in the iPhone 11 can’t pull off the same OLED effect, the Liquid Retina display still provides high-quality picture and accurate colors. It’s one of the best LCDs in any smartphone.

iPhone 11 Vs iPhone 11 Pro: Which Is For You

A look at iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 Pro, if you don’t need Apple’s latest handsets.

The iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 Pro has been a big question since the phones were released at the end of 2019. That launch consisted of three models in total the more mid-range iPhone 11, the premium iPhone 11 Pro, and the larger iPhone 11 Pro Max. We’ll be comparing all three in this post.

Since the iPhone 12 models were released in November 2020, the iPhone 11 series continues to see some excellent discounts. That makes an iPhone 11 a great choice for people who want the reliability and fast performance of an iPhone at a lower cost than the most current model.

Apple has always been a company that aims to serve creative needs, and that extends to iPhones as well from their support for the P3 colour gamut in the cameras and screen to the range of excellent and well-designed apps in the App Store.

iPhone 11 Vs iPhone 11 Pro: Camera

The iPhone 11 has a dual-lens rear camera system, while the iPhone 11 Pro has a triple-lens system. All models include an ultra-wide lens and a wide lens, but the 11 Pro adds a telephoto into the mix.

The thing that makes this comparison easier is that the ultra-wide and wide cameras are the same on all devices. The ultra-wide lens is f/2.4 with a 120° field of view and a 12MP sensor, and it gives you a 0.5x zoom compared to the wide. The wide is f/1.8 with a 12MP sensor again.

Youve got loads of features that mix the hardware with software, including Night Mode for taking detailed shots in extremely low light, Portrait Mode to add fake depth of field, and Apples Smart HDR and Deep Fusion systems mix data from multiple images every time you press the button in order to create sharper and better-exposed shots.

The iPhone 11 Pro models add a telephoto lens, which is a 2x zoom compared to the wide, with a f/2.0 aperture. This also provides the one other notable difference from the iPhone 11, which is that the Pro can take Portrait Mode shots with anything as the subject, because it uses its bigger array of lenses to create a real depth map and detect edges in 3D the iPhone 11 can only take Portrait Mode shots of people and pets, because it uses software-based detection to detect edges and estimate the depth map.

Camera Systems: The Bigger The Better

iPhone 12 Pro Vs iPhone 11 Pro! (Size Comparison)

Onto the cameras this is where you will find the bulk of differences between the four iPhone models. But in short, if you are a serious photographer and videographer that wants the best Apple has to offer, then the 12 Pro Max is your clear choice. For everyone else, you may as well get the iPhone 11 Pro or 11 Pro Max.

Performance And Battery Life: Should You Futureproof

With the iPhone 12 Pro series, you’re going to get double the base storage at 128GB compared to 64GB on the iPhone 11 Pro models. You’re also going to be getting two more gigabytes of RAM on the newer models, which can keep the phone’s performance feeling fresh down the line.

When comparing the A14 Bionic to the iPhone 11 Pro’s A13, there isn’t much to say in terms of performance because you’re getting industry-leading performance regardless. The main reason you should pick Apple’s 12 Pro series in this instance is its longevity. Apple will inevitably support its newer phone for longer, and this is important when you’re going to be dishing out over $1000 for a new phone.

The iPhone 12 Pro series is also 5G-enabled, and this further makes these phones more ideal than their predecessors because you’ll be able to connect to faster data if you so choose.

Cracked Screens And Waterproofing

We put both the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro through a test where we dropped them from different heights. After dropping them from 3-feet, 6-feet and 8-feet off the ground both phones survived without a single crack to their screens or glass backs. The only blemish was a small scuff to the iPhone 11’s aluminum band and a few damaged pixels on the bottom of the 11 Pro’s screen.

As far as water resistance, both of these phones are rated IP68. Apple claims the iPhone 11 can withstand being submerged at a depth of 6.5 feet up to 30 minutes and the 11 Pro can survive at a maximum depth of 13 feet up to 30 minutes. However, in our water tests with an underwater drone, the 11 and 11 Pro both survived being submerged for 30 minutes at 39 feet .

New Colors New Finish New You

Lots of people have asked me what I think of the matte finish on the new iPhone 11 Pro and I have to say, it’s absolutely lovely, especially on the silver model. That soft white backside is like looking at an elegant pair of satin gloves.

All of the colors we’re familiar with gold, space gray, and silver, have a new, and in my opinion, better look. The colors are richer and more vibrant. They stand out more. Less reflective so you can look deeper into the color. Space gray has this sort of compelling effect on your eyes. You want to look at it more. Find the shadows hidden in the dark.

Of course, there’s that brand new color added to the iPhone Pro line: Midnight Green. It’s difficult to describe what it looks like in real life, but it’s sort of a smokey green. It’s very dark, so dark it almost looks gray, but when it hits the light right, you can see that dark green peeking through.

If showing off to your friends that you’ve got the newest iPhone, the iPhone 11 Pro in Midnight Green will definitely catch their eye.

iPhone 11 Pro And Pro Max

Revealed: Here
  • Camera 1: 12MP wide, f/1.8, OIS
  • Camera 2: 12MP telephoto, f/2.0, OIS, 2x optical zoom
  • Camera 3: 12MP ultra wide, f/2.4, 120-degree FOV

The obvious difference is the addition of the telephoto camera on the iPhone 11 Pros. So while the iPhone 11 can go from 0.5x to 1x , the iPhone 11 Pros go from 0.5x to 2x , for a total of 4x optical zoom.

The triple-camera system in the iPhone 11 Pro is more than just an extra lens, however. Apple says its engineers precisely calibrate each camera individually for things like white balance and exposure. Then they push it even further, pairing the three cameras and calibrating them again for module to module alignment. To hear Apple describe it, the iPhone Pros camera is about much more than just an extra lens.

Nonetheless, both camera tiers have very similar features. Theres a new Night Mode for taking useable shots in extreme low light portrait mode and portrait lighting next-generation Smart HDR and advanced redeye correction and auto image stabilization. And both the cheaper iPhone 11 and more expensive 11 Pros snap simultaneous wide and ultra wide pics each time you shoot, so you can decide later which one to keep.

As far as video, all three phones record in 4K at up to 60fps, and feature audio zoom , brighter True Tone flash, and the new QuckTake video that lets you hold the shutter to quickly switch to video mode.

Telephoto Camera Is Nice To Have

The iPhone 11 Pro has a third telephoto camera that the iPhone 11 doesn’t. At times it was nice switching to the telephoto camera. And compared to the iPhone XS, the updated telephoto camera combined with Deep Fusion processing meant I took photos with better image quality.

There were also times when I framed a shot better with the 11 Pro’s telephoto camera than I could with the main camera. For example, when I took a top-down shot of a plate of food with the main camera, I could see the phone’s shadow on the plate. But when I switched to the telephoto camera and moved the phone higher away from the table there was no shadow.

There are a couple caveats about the iPhone 11 Pro’s telephoto camera though. When you take Night Mode photos at 2x, the 11 Pro doesn’t use the telephoto camera. Instead, it takes a crop of the main wide-angle camera. Also, the telephoto camera excels in bright conditions, but when taking photos in medium-to-low light, I noticed better image quality when I took the same photo with the main camera and cropped in.
