Click Preferences.
Click the checkbox next to CDs, DVDs, and iOS Devices to check it if the box is empty. If the box is already checked, still click it to uncheck it and wait a few seconds.
Click the checkbox next to CDs, DVDs, and iOS Devices again to check it off and wait a few minutes.
After a few minutes, your iPhone or iPad should appear in the sidebar of the Finder under Locations.

To figure out exactly how much iCloud space your backup file will take go to Settings, tap on the Apple ID/iCloud, then tap iCloud, then Manage Storage and, last, tap Backups. There’s a list of devices that are backing up or trying to back up with your account.
You can manage your iCloud storage by removing old backups for iOS devices you no longer have.
Give your phone a few moments to figure things out, then look at the top of the screen. You should see the following details: Last Backup, Backup Size and Next Backup Size. Share And Close Safari Tabs
If you enable iCloud sync for Safari on your Mac and iPhone, you can close tabs open on one device from the other. Once enabled, the open Safari tabs from your iPhone will show up in the Safari tab switcher on your Mac. You might need to scroll down to see them.
To reveal the tab switcher on a Mac, hit Shift + Cmd + Backslash or click on View > Show Tab Overview.

How To Disconnect Handoff Between An iPhone And Mac
Handoff can be incredibly useful when you want to continue your activity from iPhone to Mac and vice versa. But those constant visual cues on the Dock can be a distraction.
If you want to disable Handoff on your Mac, go to System Preferences > General and uncheck the box next to Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.

Connect iPhone To Macbook Via Usb
In recent years Apple has been dropping the older USB port from its Mac laptops and replacing it with USB-C. The irony of this is that the iPhone still ships with a plug for a USB-A port rather than USB-C .
Since 2016 the MacBook Pro and MacBook have only featured USB C, and as of 2018 the MacBook Air switched to the newer standard. That means if you own a new Mac laptop you won’t have access to the older-style USB A port. So how can you plug in your iPhone ?
There’s one way around this, and that’s to buy an adapter. We list the best USB-C adapters and cables elsewhere, but the most obvious choice would be Apple’s own 1m USB-C to Lightning Cable or 2m USB-C to Lightning Cable.
All you have to do is use this cable instead of the Lighting/USB cable that came with the iPhone. Open iTunes as before and the iPhone’s icon should appear.
Which Method Is Best
Of all the methods, USB is the fastest but most inconvenient, requiring your iPhone to be physically connected to the computer. Still, its super simple to set up, requiring zero configuration.
Using Speedtest.net and conducting some basic tests, we saw speeds on our own personal mobile data connection 3.7mbps down, 4.3 up, with around a 60ms ping time.
Bluetooth is more secure than Wi-Fi, but the slowest of the three, also requiring the most configuration, though once its done, you dont have to worry about it again.
We saw speeds around .8mbps down, .8 up, and again, 60mg ping times.
Wi-Fi will be the most popular way of connecting, but is insecure if you dont use a strong passwordso make sure you set one. Its also very easy to connect to, needing only to enter said password once, and almost as fast as USB.
Overall, speeds for our Wi-Fi hotspot were 3.7mbps down, 2.7mbps up, and 30ms ping times.
With that said, unless you want to tether your phone to your computer with a USB cable , Wi-Fi is clearly the clear choice for most of your hotspot connections. Theres little reason to choose Bluetooth due to its slow speeds, unless of course, thats your only choice availablelike if your Wi-Fi adapter is acting flaky and you cant find a USB cable.
