True Depth Camera System
The True Depth camera system was redesigned so that it fits in a space that is 20% smaller. Ever since the iPhone X, users have asked for a smaller notch or its removal. Some Apple competitors adopted the notch design, then quickly jumped to hole-punch displays.
The Face ID system is unchanged from previous generations. It consists of six different sensors used to scan a user’s face for biometric security. It includes the infrared camera, flood illuminator, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, dot projector, and selfie camera.
The selfie camera also remains unchanged from the iPhone 12 Pro models, though the A15 Bionic has an improved image signal processor, which will produce better images from the same camera. The iPhone 13 Pro selfie camera is also capable of Cinematic Mode video and Photographic Styles for photos.
Apple added the ability to authenticate users who are wearing a mask with a new version of Face ID. It is available in iOS 15.4 and acts as a separate system that replaces the standard Face ID.
The new system relies on details found around a person’s eyes rather than the eyes, nose, and mouth. Because of this, it won’t work with sunglasses and users must register the glasses they wear for improved accuracy.
iPhone 6s And 6s Plus
Apple’s iPhone 6S and 6S Plus represent meaty upgrades to the 2014 models on which they’re based. The 6S and 6S plus get new force touch technology called 3D Touch, as well as a beefed up 12-megapixel iSight camera that can shoot 4K video. Both phones run on a faster A9 chip, and come in a new color for 2015: rose gold.
iPhone 14 Launch Impact On Older iPhones
Currently, Apple officially sells eight iPhones including the iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 11, and the latest iPhone SE 2022. Some other older iPhones are available at selected retailers and phone carriers for purchase too. According to the report, any iPhones that may disturb or take buyers’ eyes away from the sales of the upcoming iPhone 14 series would likely disappear.
And while analyzing the previous patterns, it is suggested that Apple may kill off the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Significantly, since the start of Pro and Pro Max models back in 2019, Apple never kept any of its Pro versions for more than a year. With the launch of the iPhone 11 series, Apple dropped the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max for sale.
Not just that, Apple also rarely keeps phones for more than three years after their release date. Yes! That means the iPhone 11 which was launched in September 2019, can also be headed for the killing fields.
Well, it is worth noting that Apple hasn’t confirmed anything yet, and even if Apple will remove these iPhones, there will always be select retailers, e-commerce websites, and phone carriers who will continue to sell iPhones like the iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and more- till the goods last.

What Is The Difference Between iPhone 12 And 13
There are a few differences between the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 13. The two phones offer mostly the same design. However, the camera lenses are diagonally-aligned instead of vertically aligned. The iPhone 13 also has Apples upgraded A15 Bionic chip over the A14 Bionic chip in the iPhone 12. And the device has Apples sensor-shift camera tech.
Basically, the phones are very similar, but the iPhone 13 has a slightly better processor and a slightly better camera. If you have an iPhone 12, you dont need an iPhone 13.

Also taking a Night mode photo was faster and works with the 3x telephoto camera. The iPhone 11 and 12 series had a peculiar quirk where the camera reflected light sources. On the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, that quirk is still there, especially if there are string lights in your shot, but overall it’s better.

iPhone 14 Surprising Cost
Apple’s iPhone 14 was expected to be more expensive. Surprisingly, this price is no different from the iPhone 13 Pro models. The Pro comes with a $999 baseline price tag, and the Pro Max at just $100 more at $1099. The baseline of each model starts at 128GB of storage, and each Pro model has three storage upgrades at its own price. Moving into 256 GB of storage, the iPhone 14 Pro is priced at $1099, while the iPhone 14 Pro max is at $1199. The next tier at 512 GB adds $100 more to each model. Finally, the last level, 1TB of storage, adds $200 more to each model setting the iPhone 14 Pro at $1499 and the Pro Max at $1599.
While the iPhone Pro model is still an expensive line, it’s worth the value. This year’s iPhone 14 Pro series brings revolutionary technology backed by the A16 Bionic Chip. The Pro models feature advanced ultra-wide camera and video capabilities. In addition, iPhone 14 Pro models introduce SOS features such as Emergency SOS via Satellite and Crash Detection. Not to mention the new Dynamic Island that has masked the top-notch. Even at the phone’s current price, buyers can save up to $1000 by trading in eligible devices. Trading in old iPhones also supports Apple’s green initiative. It’s a win-win. Given the rumor that the iPhone 14 would have a 15 percent price increase, it’s relieving to know that the Pro models are not quite as expensive as initially stated.
Truedepth Camera And Face Id
For biometric authentication purposes, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max use Face ID, the facial recognition system that was first introduced in 2017. Face ID components are housed in the TrueDepth camera system in the display notch, which is smaller this year.
Face ID is used across iOS tasks for unlocking the iPhone, allowing access to third-party passcode-protected apps, confirming app purchases, and authenticating Apple Pay payments.
Face ID works through a set of sensors and cameras. A Dot Projector projects more than 30,000 invisible infrared dots onto the surface of the skin to create a 3D facial scan that maps the curves and planes of each face, with the scan read by an infrared camera.
The facial depth map is relayed to the A15 chip where it is transformed into a mathematical model that the iPhone uses to authenticate identity. Face ID works in low light and in the dark, and with hats, beards, glasses, sunglasses, scarves, and other accessories that partially obscure the face.

“While we think there will be some pressure, we believe the proliferation of installment plans will significantly lessen the impact as customers will only need to pay the equivalent of a few more dollars per month per device,” Credit Suisse analysts said.
Analysts at JPMorgan anticipate a price increase for iPhone 14 Pro models because of inflation and supply chain pressures, but they don’t expect Apple to raise prices for the regular iPhone 14. The analysts said a price bump would matter more for the company’s wearables like the Apple Watch.
“Pricing is a key watch-point in a tough macro which comprises inflationary pressures and pull back in consumer spending, but we believe it matters more for Wearables which are considered more discretionary purchases relative to iPhone by consumers,” they wrote in a Tuesday note.
Apple did not respond to a request for comment.

Promotion On The iPhone 13 Pro Is Stellar
The 13 Pro has a 6.1-inch screen and the 13 Pro Max a 6.7-inch one. In everyday use, the screens are noticeably brighter. The displays have what Apple calls ProMotion, meaning the iPhone, for the first time ever, supports a high refresh rate. Depending on what’s being shown on the screen, the refresh rate switches between 10 and 120Hz. This is a similar approach Samsung took with the Galaxy S21 Ultra. In use, the screen looks stellar. Animations look smooth, graphics crisp and even mundane things like scrolling feeds look better.

iPhone 13 Pro Max Review: Verdict
The iPhone 13 Pro Max is that rare phone that gets a 5-star rating from us. You get superior cameras and video recording capabilities including the very compelling Cinematic mode and macro mode blistering performance and a very responsive 120Hz display. Plus, the battery life is even better this time around and among the best weve seen from a 5G flagship.
I also appreciate the slightly better 3x optical zoom and 15x digital zoom on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the brighter screen and the slightly smaller notch. But I wish Apple could deliver faster charging, and Id like to see a sleeker design next time around with the iPhone 14 with less of a camera bump and perhaps full-screen look.
Some may simply prefer the iPhone 13 Pro because its smaller and lighter, as there are no other functional differences between the two handsets. But if you prefer a bigger screen, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the closest thing to perfect you can get in a phone.
When Is The iPhone 13’s Release Date
Apple announced the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro at its September “California Streaming” event, revealing the long-awaited features of the new smartphones ahead of the first devices arriving to customers.
After a later-than-usual launch for the iPhone 12 models last year, Apple has returned to its traditional September smartphone unveiling timeframe for the iPhone 13 lineup, which features model options in the same sizes as the iPhone 12 lineup, including a 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The iPhone 13 features a smaller notch, a brighter display, a faster A15 Bionic chip, repositioned rear cameras, a larger sensor on the Wide camera, sensor-shift stabilization, “Cinematic mode” to blur the background of video and rack focus, and more.
On the other hand, the iPhone 13 Pro features all of the improvements that came to the standard iPhone 13 models, but added a ProMotion display for refresh rates up to 120Hz, an improved Telephoto camera, a more powerful variant of the A15 Bionic chip, up to 1TB of storage, and a new Sierra Blue color option.
The iPhone 13 mini starts at $699 with 128GB of base storage, up from the previous 64GB. The iPhone 13 starts at $799. The iPhone 13 Pro starts at $999, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max starts at $1,099.

iPhone 11 Pro Max Review
AppleInsider gave the phone and its smaller sibling 4.5 out of 5 stars in our review shortly after launch. We praised its superior camera, bigger screen, and long battery life.
“The clearest improvement is the three-lens camera. In the now-square camera protrusion, Apple has included a five-element ultra-wide lens with an /2.4 aperture and 120-degree field of view, and a six-element /1.8 wide lens.
“A six-element telephoto lens with an /2.0 aperture has a 2x optical zoom-in, the same as the iPhone X and iPhone XS, but also notably a 2x optical zoom-out.
“The wide and telephoto lenses have optical image stabilization.
“What gets lost in the noise of ‘The best smartphone camera is…’ headlines that abound this time of year is the video quality that is generated by the system as a whole. Video can be captured at 4K resolution at 24, 30 or 60 frames per second, and utilizes optical image stabilization on the wide and telephoto lenses.
“If you shoot at night a lot, or have been anxiously awaiting Portrait mode for your pets, now’s your time. Apple has improved the machine learning and computational photography in the iPhone 11 Pro, and to a lesser extent, everything that can run iOS 13.
“As a result, photos in low-light environment have the detail that you want. That furry creature that lives in your house can now get the same photo treatment on your phone with bokeh and other effects that your kids or significant other did before the update.
