Sometimes you get spam messages on your phone. Sometimes people are annoying. Sometimes you just need to block people. The good news is doing that on your iPhone is easy.
There is a small quirk to blocking numbers on an iPhone: The number you want to block must be stored in your Contacts, as theres no way to block a specific number otherwise. We recommend creating a contact called Spam and adding all spammy numbers to that contact card so you dont clutter up your contact list.
Once youve added that number to your contacts, though, there are two ways to block it.
Block Text Messages On iPhone Via Messages App
Step 1: Go to “Messages” App on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on the message from the contact. Then click the “i” icon on the on the upper right of the corner.
Step 3: Tap on the name of the contact.

With iMessage, a message you receive from someone who isnt saved in your contacts might be identified as possible spam or junk. You can report these messages to Apple.
In the message, tap Report Junk, then tap Delete and Report Junk.
