Transmission Of Private And Technical Data

Quick Test: iPhone 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus – does 3 GB of RAM matter?

A privacy experiment conducted by the Washington Post determined that the iPhone transmitted a host of personal data without the user’s knowledge or consent, including phone number, email, exact location, device model and IP address, to “a dozen marketing companies, research firms and other personal data guzzlers” via 5,400 hidden app trackers. Some of the information shared with third parties was found to be in violation of the apps’ own privacy regulations.

iPhone 13 Storage Options

If you’re considering the iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 mini, you no longer have to resign yourself to 64GB of storage should you opt for the entry-level price of either phone. Instead, the $699 starting price of the iPhone 13 mini gets you a 128GB model you’ll get 128GB of capacity with the $799 iPhone 13 as well.

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini also come in 256GB and 512GB configurations. Just add another $100 to the price for for jumping to the next tier of storage, then another $200 after that. The 256GB iPhone 13 mini would cost $799 while a 512GB model would go for $999. Price climbs are identical for the 256GB iPhone 13 and 512GB model .

128GB
$1,399 $1,599

As for the iPhone 13 Pro models, the 128GB iPjone 13 Pro starts at $990 while the iPhone 13 Pro pushes the starting price out to $1,099. Add $100 to that price for the 266GB model. A jump to the 512BB model costs another $200, so the 512GB iPhone 13 Pro would cost $1,299. Should you opt for the 1TB iPhone 13 Pro unit of your dreams, it’s $200 on top of that.

Put another way, if you want a 1TB iPhone 13 Pro Max, you’ll pay $1,599 for the privilege. You can get a 13-inch M1-powered MacBook Pro with 512GB of storage for nearly that much, and still have $100 left over.

Erase All Content And Settings

If the iPhone System storage problem persists, we recommend erasing all content and settings on your iPhone. This reset will erase everything on your iPhone your photos, contacts, songs, custom Settings, and more. It should also clear out the System files taking up storage space.

Before performing this reset, its important to save a backup of the data on your iPhone. Otherwise youll lose your photos, contacts, wallpaper, and everything else!

iPhone 11 128gb: A Worthwhile Upgrade

The 128GB model is only available for the ‘budget flagship’ iPhone 11 – the iPhone 11 Pro models only get the bumped up options. But, the 128GB size is likely going to be the sweet spot for the iPhone 11, especially because it’s such a small increase in price from the 64GB model. It’s just $50 more than the base model, but doubles the storage capacity.

With 128GB, you’ll be able to take plenty of photos, and you can get a decent amount of video as well. And, that’ll still leave you room to download apps, games, and keep a regularly rotating queue of downloaded videos stored on your phone.

If you plan to take a lot of video, then you’ll definitely want at least 128GB, but it may still not be quite enough. You’ll either want to make sure you’re regularly backing up your old footage and clearing it off the phone, or you should consider jumping up to the next larger size.

If you don’t like backing up your phone or relying on the cloud, and you don’t plan to jump to the next iPhone in a year or two, then this may also be a bad choice. While it’s not hard to stretch 128GB, you have to be judicious with what you keep on your device. And, if you like to keep a lot on it, and accumulate even more large video files and photos, you may find yourself hitting that 128GB cap before you’re ready to upgrade to a future iPhone.

  • iPhone 11 64GB – $699, £729, AU$1,199
  • iPhone 11 128GB – $749, £779, AU$1,279

What About A 512gb iPhone

Beyond 256GB of storage, we have Apples top-of-the-range storage option: 512GB which is just over half a terabyte of internal storage. This is a huge amount of memory it is more than some laptops. But you will pay top dollar for this amount of storage around $1399/£1399.

Who needs 512GB of storage on their iPhone? Honestly, Im not too sure. Even forum discussions on the subject seem to point to 512GB being complete overkill, meaning all the storage most people will ever need is 512GB.

I mean, look at it this way: with 256GB of storage, youll have enough room for 13,000 photos, 1000 songs, and 1400 videos on your phone. And even with all that, as well as all your apps and games, youll still have around 50GB of room left over.

The only upshot of having 512GB of storage is that youll have enough room on your iPhone to carry ALL your media with you at all times. That means all your , all your ebooks, all of your podcasts, and all of your apps and games. And even then, youll still probably have plenty left over.

Most iPhone users seldom break the 256GB threshold, so, yeah you probably dont need to fork out for a 512GB iPhone any time soon.

What iPhone 7 Storage Size Should You Get: 32gb Vs 128gb Vs 256gb

If all you do is text, stream, and access web portals, you’ll probably be able to live on 32GB. If you shoot 4K video, download all your media, and want tons of apps, 256GB might be the only option. If you do a lot of different things or are anywhere in the middle, choosing which iPhone 7 storage size to get can be one of the hardest decisions you make. Here’s what you need to consider!

Limit Streaming Of Video And Music

Its important to be aware of what uses the most data when you use your iPhone. Streaming video and music typically use the most mobile data in the shortest amount of time. Its important, therefore, to limit your use of video streaming apps like YouTube, TikTok, and Netflix when youre on Wi-Fi.

Apps that stream music can also use quite a bit of data, but streaming music uses a lot less data than video. On my iPhone, I only stream video once in a while when Im using mobile data, but I dont worry as much about streaming music from Pandora or Spotify.

If you want to watch video on your iPhone, especially on long trips, try to download the video to your iPhone before you leave. If you rent or purchase a movie from iTunes, for example, you have the option to download it to your phone using Wi-Fi ahead of time. Streaming services like Netflix also give you the option to download shows and movies for offline viewing.

If youre already on vacation and you dont have Wi-Fi at your hotel, head to a local Starbucks and use their Wi-Fi to download the big movie file. I recently met a couple of wonderful people who were doing just that.

The Difference Is 16gb Of Storage

Is 32gb Enough For iPhone 7? – Fliptroniks.com

How big is your iTunes library? Do you want to carry movies and TV shows on your phone in case you happen to want to watch them while waiting somewhere? How big are the last 1000 photos you’ve taken in your iPhoto library? Do you like to shoot video with your phone?

Then, what about apps? Some apps are much larger than others. GarageBand and Pages in particular are not small.

There is no external storage like SD card slots, so the capacity you buy is the capacity the device has for its lifetime. For me, 16GB doesn’t fit the songs alone I’d want on my iPod, let alone photos, videos, and other app content. On the other hand, one would need to shoot and store a lot of video to run into the 64GB limit .

Manage Your Phones Storage

Youll need to think about your storage and keep an eye on it. Both iPhones and Android phones have a built-in storage information screen that will show you exactly what is using storage on your device, breaking it down by app. Each app takes a certain amount of storage just for that app, while apps can also cache data for offline use.

To see exactly whats using up storage, visit the appropriate screen in your operating system.

On an iPhone, open the Settings app and navigate to General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage. Tap an app to see more information.

On an Android phone, open the Settings app and tap Storage. Tap a category to see more information.

If an apps cache is using quite a bit of storage, you may be able to clear it from within the app or operating system. You can always just uninstall and reinstall the app, too.

These screens will tell you exactly whats using up storage. You should head here whenever your phone complains youre running low on storage, but you can also visit this screen and save space before it gets that low.

When Should You Get 64gb

You might want to get the 64GB now if you do not do any heavy file work with your phones, such as massive games or social media. With a few hundred photos, and around 100 apps, few videos, then get a 64GB iPhone 11. You do also have to consider the duration in which you are planning to use your phone, especially if it is not for more than a year, and you will not run out of storage space by then, then go ahead and purchase the iPhone 11 64GB. You might also want to consider your budget as the 64GB version is cheaper than the 128GB. So, what you do and how much you can afford are significant determinants here.

If you regularly take photos and especially if you regularly record videos those will eventually fill up your phones storage. You can prevent that from happening by regularly getting your photos off of your phone.

Google Photos does a great job of this. It offers . Its excellent even on iPhones, as Apple just offers a free 5 GB or all your photos, backups, and other data. Install the app, tell it to sync, and it can upload your photos to the cloud. Better yet, the recently added free up device storage feature allows the app to remove photos and videos from your device after uploading them. Itll put them in your Google account where you can access them from the app or a web browser and get them off your devices limited storage.

On iPhone, you could also choose to use iCloud Photo Library and enable the Optimize iPhone Storage option to save a bit of storage, but it wont save quite as much as using Google Photos and removing the photos entirely. Youll find these options under Settings > iCloud > Photos. Be sure to disable the photo stream feature, too this will prevent 1000 photos from being synced to your device.

Live photos also use more space, so you may want to consider taking old-fashioned live photos and converting those live photos to still photos. If you upload your live photos to Google Photos, theyll just become still photos.

iPhone Storage: What Is A Gigabyte

Storage on an iPhone or iPad refers to the amount of solid-state flash memory available for storing apps, music, documents, videos, games, and photos. The amount of storage available is described in GB, or gigabytes, and iPhone storage on current devices ranges from 32 GB to 512 GB. Save Photos And Videos To A Cloud Service Instead Of On Your Device

The best way to free up space on your iPhone is to remove files you don’t need to store on your device. But that doesn’t mean you have to downsize your photo library. Instead, try storing them in a third-party cloud storage service like Google Photos rather than on your device. It’s a quick way to free up a lot of storage without requiring you to part with old memories.

But before you delete anything, make sure the photos you want to save have been backed up or transferred to . If your photos and videos are not backed up to another service like Google Photos, Dropbox, Box or OneDrive before being deleted, they’ll be permanently erased. This guide walks you through how to copy over your entire iCloud photo library to Google Photos, but just note that the unlimited free storage option is no longer available.

You might be wondering why you need to use a separate cloud service if your photos are already stored in iCloud. That’s because deleting your photos from your iPhone erases them from iCloud as well, so you’ll want to use another service if you plan to delete images from your device.

You can try saving photos in a cloud storage app like Google Photos.
