As mentioned above, all you have to do is use an appropriate USB adapter and connect a wired keyboard to work. With the announcement of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13, Apple surprised the world by adding support for mice. Mouse support is included in iOS 13 for iPhone. It will arrive on iPads with iPadOS 13, scheduled for September 24.
Its still early days for mouse support on iPhone and iPad, and the feature isnt even enabled by default. Lets take a look at how to enable it, which devices it works with, and what are the benefits of using a pointing device on an operating system thats been designed from the ground up for touch input.

Connecting A Wired Mouse
To connect a wired mouse to your iPhone or iPad, you will need Apples Lightning to USB Camera adapter , previously known as the Camera Connection Kit. This nifty little Lightning-to-USB accessory was initially designed for transferring images from a digital camera to your devices internal storage.
If you have a more modern iPad Pro with a USB Type-C connector, and youre using an older USB Type-A mouse, you should use the USB-C to USB adapter . If you have an iPad with a USB Type-C adapter and a compatible mouse, you can just plug it straight in.
Of course, this isnt the only use for the Camera Connection Kit. In addition to mice, you can use it to hook up USB MIDI instruments, USB microphones, or even other smartphones to your iOS or iPadOS device. Here, well be using it to add support for a simple USB wired mouse:
Use The Computer Mouse On Your iPhone
Now for the big moment â actually using the mouse with your iPhone. Since this is an AssistiveTouch feature, you need to turn AssistiveTouch on. So back out of the Devices settings until you’re on the AssistiveTouch screen again, then toggle on “AssistiveTouch” at the top. Alternatively, you can use the triple-click Home or Side button shortcut if you have that enabled for AssistiveTouch.
The circular AssistiveTouch menu icon will appear, as well as the circular mouse cursor. You can disable the AssistiveTouch icon when a pointer is active by toggling off “Always Show Menu” in the AssistiveTouch settings.
Depending on what actions you chose for each button, mouse use will vary from person to person. But if you stuck with the defaults as I did above, left-clicking will select things. Left-clicking and holding it down will grab items or let you perform swipes like to open the Control Center or Notification Center.

I found that the cursor was going too fast on the screen, so I had to turn the tracking speed down. In it, there’s a slider which you can adjust â left toward the turtle slows it down, right toward the rabbit speeds it up.

First, verify that your device isnt already paired and connected with another device, like your iPhone or Mac.
To check, for Macs choose Apple menu > System Preferences> Bluetooth. For iPhones, go to Settings > Bluetooth. If needed, disconnect the mouse/trackpad from these devices before trying to connect to your iPad.
Restart Your iPad Or iPhone As Well As Your Mouse Or Trackpad
A troubleshooting favorite: Restart your device. Press and hold the Side or Top button on your iPhone or iPad then slide to power off. Leave the device powered off for at least 30 seconds before you press the button to turn it on again.
Similarly, if possible, you should restart your mouse or trackpad as well. That might involve removing the batteries, unplugging it, or using a power switch.

How To Connect An External Wireless Keyboard To The iPhone
This works to sync an external Bluetooth keyboard with just about any iOS device that is even somewhat modern, so whether the iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad is running a new or old version of system software you can connect the external keyboard to it this way.

Option : Pairing A Wired Or Wireless Mouse With Usb Receiver
On the “Devices” page, you will see the “Bluetooth Devices” option, but that’s not what you want. That’s only for mice that connect via Bluetooth. For the ones with USB-based receivers or wired ones, you’ll need to have a USB to Lightning adapter. If you don’t have an adapter, you will need to get Apple’s Lightning to USB Camera Adapter or Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter . Either of these will work, but the cheaper one is good enough for use with your computer mouse.
