Apples Find My Network

This technology keeps a track of the devices connected to the Find My Network using the Bluetooth signal of the compatible devices.

Set Up Find My Friends
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is using iOS 9 through 12, Find My Friends is automatically installed. If your device is using a version of iOS 8, install the free Find My Friends app from the App Store. When you , you automatically sign in to Find My Friends with your Apple ID.
If you want to get Find My Friends notifications on your Apple Watch, go to the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Then go to the My Watch tab, tap Notifications, scroll down, tap Find Friends, and tap to turn on Mirror iPhone alerts. Tap the switch next to so it’s in the green ‘on’ position.
To stop sharing your location, just repeat these steps, except tap the switch to turn it to the green ‘off’ position.
Airpods Not Showing Up On Find My iPhone
Actually, they could be a few things that made your AirPods refusing to show up on finding my iPhone. However, below are some of them:
- Make sure that you signed in to iCloud on your iPhone: For iOS 10.3 or later, tap Settings. If you see Sign in to your , tap it and enter your Apple ID and password. For earlier versions of iOS, tap Settings > iCloud and enter your Apple ID and password.
- Tap Settings > > iCloud > Find My iPhone. If Find My iPhone is off, turn it on. Then tap Allow.
- Check which Apple ID you signed in with. Maybe you signed in to iCloud.com or Find My iPhone with a different Apple ID than on the device that you dont see listed. To check, sign in to Find My iPhone or iCloud.com with your other Apple ID accounts and look for your device.
- Check that your device has a cellular or Wi-Fi network connection. For example, to locate your Mac or Apple Watch, it must connect to the Internet through a known Wi-Fi network . - Tap Settings > General > Date & Time. Check that Set Automatically is on, which automatically sets your date and time based on your time zone.

How To Find Devices With Find My On Your iPhone And iPad
Tap the Devices tab. Devices near you should appear on the map.
Swipe up and tap one of the buttons or the switch available to you.
How To Turn On Find My On The iPhone

Airpods Dont Show up on Find My iPhone. I recently misplaced my AirPods, which is a typical occurrence for me, in which case I just use the Find My iPhone app. But this time, I opened it to see that it not only wasnt detecting my AirPods location, it didnt even have it registered as a device of mine anymore. Its like I never had them.
I had find my iPhone on previously but it seems to have been turned off by one of the lates updates perhaps 1OS 11 or 11.1. When opening the find my iPhone App when it was turned off in settings, it showed all my devices I have had from before iOS 10.3 but not the AirPods which I just bought. After turning on find my iPhone they now show up.

Stop Sharing Your Location
If you don’t want your friends to see your location in Find My Friends, you can stop sharing from the app on your iOS device or on iCloud.com. You can still see the location of your friends, but your friends see Location Not Available when they try to locate you.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Send And Accept Location Requests
Your friends can send you a request to follow your location. If you accept someone’s request, that person can then see your location. If you want to see that person’s location, you must invite them, and they must accept your invitation.
If you accept a request from a friend that youre not following, a follow request is automatically sent to your friend.

Play A Sound To Spot Your Airpods
What if you reach the location where your AirPods are? But still, you cannot see them because they are so tiny.
In this case, if your AirPods make a sound you can quickly trace it and find them. Right!
The only thing to note here is that your AirPods need to be connected to Bluetooth with your device at the time.
Now as we have discussed earlier there are two ways to connect your AirPods, using Find My App and iCloud.com. So here also you can use either to make your AirPods create a sound.
Note: If you have lost only one of your AirPods, make sure the other one is not in your ear, because the sound your AirPods makes is a sharp one.
Follow the steps below to play a sound on your AirPods.
- Open the Find My app.
- Navigate to Devices located at the bottom.
- Choose your AirPods from the devices options.
- Click on Play Sound. This sound will keep getting louder and will be played for around 2 minutes. You can play the sound again if you did not find your AirPods in the first attempt.
