Apples Find My Network

  • If you want friends and family to know where you are, turn on Share My Location.

    If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is using iOS 9 through 12, Find My Friends is automatically installed. If your device is using a version of iOS 8, install the free Find My Friends app from the App Store. When you , you automatically sign in to Find My Friends with your Apple ID.

  • Open Find My on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap the Me tab.
  • Tap the switch next to so it’s in the green ‘on’ position.

I recently misplaced my AirPods, which is a typical occurrence for me, in which case I just use the Find My iPhone app. But this time, I opened it to see that it not only wasnt detecting my AirPods location, it didnt even have it registered as a device of mine anymore. Its like I never had them.

    I had find my iPhone on previously but it seems to have been turned off by one of the lates updates perhaps 1OS 11 or 11.1. When opening the find my iPhone App when it was turned off in settings, it showed all my devices I have had from before iOS 10.3 but not the AirPods which I just bought. After turning on find my iPhone they now show up.

    Stop Sharing Your Location

    If you don’t want your friends to see your location in Find My Friends, you can stop sharing from the app on your iOS device or on iCloud.com. You can still see the location of your friends, but your friends see Location Not Available when they try to locate you.

    What if you reach the location where your AirPods are? But still, you cannot see them because they are so tiny.

    In this case, if your AirPods make a sound you can quickly trace it and find them. Right!

    The only thing to note here is that your AirPods need to be connected to Bluetooth with your device at the time.

    Now as we have discussed earlier there are two ways to connect your AirPods, using Find My App and iCloud.com. So here also you can use either to make your AirPods create a sound.

    Note: If you have lost only one of your AirPods, make sure the other one is not in your ear, because the sound your AirPods makes is a sharp one.
