Apple iPhone Xs Vs Xs Max Vs iPhone X Software

iPhone 8 and iPhone X – THE BIGGEST SCAM IN APPLE HISTORY!
  • iOS 12
  • Same software experience

The Apple iPhone X launched on iOS 11, but it has now been updated to iOS 12.

The iPhone XS and XS Max both arrive with iOS 12, with all the new features this software brings with it, including enhancements to Photos, Siri and ARKit to name but a few. The software experience between the old X and the new XS is therefore the same, aside from a few extra features here and there like the Depth Control within the Portrait Mode pictures.

You can read all the details on the new iPhone XS and XS Max in our separate feature if you want to know more.

Transmission Of Private And Technical Data

A privacy experiment conducted by the Washington Post determined that the iPhone transmitted a host of personal data without the user’s knowledge or consent, including phone number, email, exact location, device model and IP address, to “a dozen marketing companies, research firms and other personal data guzzlers” via 5,400 hidden app trackers. Some of the information shared with third parties was found to be in violation of the apps’ own privacy regulations.

Face Id And Truedepth Camera System

Face ID, introduced in 2017 with the iPhone X, is the biometric authentication system that’s used in the iPhone XS and XS Max, both of which feature a notch that houses the TrueDepth camera system that enables Face ID.

Face ID is just like Touch ID, except it uses a facial scan instead of a fingerprint, and Face ID in iPhone XS and XS Max is identical to Face ID in the iPhone X with the exception of speed improvements.

With the new A12 Bionic chip and Neural Engine improvements, Face ID is able to detect your face and unlock your device faster than before.

Face ID is used across the iOS operating system for tasks like unlocking your iPhone, allowing access to third-party passcode-protected apps, confirming purchases in iTunes and the App Store, and authenticating Apple Pay payments.

Face ID works through a set of sensors and cameras built into the front of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS, called the TrueDepth Camera system. To create a facial scan, a Dot Projector projects more than 30,000 invisible infrared dots onto your face, which are then read by an infrared camera.

This depth map of your face is then relayed to the A12 Bionic processor where it is transformed into a mathematical model that the iPhone uses to make sure it’s you attempting to access your iPhone.

Both rear cameras include optical image stabilization, versus just the one for the Plus, which generally means both finally perform similarly. A close-up 2x shot of a skeleton on my porch at night looked as good as a wide-angle shot. It changes the way I shoot photos. The photo below, of my colleague Lexy Savvides, further illustrates the X’s advantage in low light versus the 8 Plus:

Did You Know You Could Save 40% on iPhones With This One Simple Trick? Read The Guide To Find Out

Phones have got bigger and bigger during the last several years. The reason? Media. , YouTube, Netflix, and the web have evolved how people use and interact with their phones. In order to make the most of images and videos, you need a large, high-resolution display. Phones are used more for multimedia consumption than making and sending calls. This is the #1 reason why theyre getting bigger.

Apple was, arguably, late to the party. It didnt start embracing larger displays until the release of the iPhone 6 in 2014. Since then, it has doubled down on larger, higher-resolution displays. The iPhone 12 Max Pro has the biggest display Apple has ever created.

In 2020, all iPhone models will feature OLED displays. You also have the most choice with respect to size with the iPhone 12 too it comes in three distinct screen sizes: 5.4in, 6.1in, and 6.7in.

The iPhone 11 Lacks A Telephoto Lens But Has Better Cameras Overall

Apart from price, cameras are one of the biggest and most important differentiators between the two iPhones. While both devices have dual 12-megapixel rear cameras, they differ in the type of lens built into them. Where the iPhone 11 has a wide and ultrawide camera, the iPhone X has a standard lens and a telephoto shooter, which gives the iPhone X an advantage because it’s better for zooming into a photo without losing quality. But even though the iPhone 11 lacks the much-loved telephoto lens, it has better cameras in general and it can pull off 2x digital zoom without any obvious loss of detail, though it has no optical zoom capabilities whatsoever.

In addition, the iPhone 11 also has the advantage of the more powerful A13 chipset working in its favor. This hardware combined with new image processing tech like Deep Fusion help make the iPhone 11 cameras some of the best money can buy today. Deep Fusion is a new way for the iPhone 11 to process photos allowing for better indoor shots that are sharper and more color-accurate. It also enables faster autofocus.

The iPhone 11’s ultrawide lens, which is a first in iPhones, is also a worthwhile resource to lean on when you’re photographing sweeping landscapes. It captures a 120-degree field of view allowing you to fit in more of your surroundings than previous models and injects drama into otherwise mundane scenes. It’s probably not something you’ll use day-to-day though.

What Size Is The iPhone 13

If you’re looking to buy an iPhone 13, or any iPhone, size is a big factor. Do you want something that can slip easily into your pocket, or do you believe that bigger is better? What about other factors related to size, like processing power, storage space, and battery life? Worry not, Goldilocks, we’ll help you find the iPhone that is just right.

We’ve covered the differences in the exteriors of both the iPhone X and iPhone 11, but there’s a key difference internally, and that’s the aforementioned chipset. At the heart of the iPhone X is the A11 bionic chip, which was Apple’s most advanced processor at the time of its launch. Fast forward to 2021, and the A11 chipset is still a speedy processor. The iPhone 11, meanwhile, houses the more power efficient A13 chip, which is also found on the other members of the iPhone 11 family . Apple claims it boosted the iPhone 11’s performance by at least 20% over the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, which used the A12. That includes the speed of the main processor brains and its special-purpose engines for graphics and AI. When we ran processing performance speeds on 3DMark and Geekbench 5, the iPhone 11 came away with the win as expected, but the iPhone X held up well.

As usual, Apple didn’t disclose battery capacity figures, but reports point to the iPhone X carrying a smaller 2,716-mAh battery, while the iPhone 11’s equipped with a 3,110-mAh battery. In our video playback tests that loops video while on airplane mode, we found that the iPhone 11 lasted 15 hours, 24 minutes. Meanwhile, the iPhone X lasted 11 hours, 45 minutes.

iPhone X // 5 BIGGEST Problems VS Top 5 Features!

Getting a new iPhone feels great and it feels even better if you treat it as a fresh start and get rid of all the clutter on your phone before moving your data. Photo libraries in particular tend to get messy, with all the duplicated photos, blurry shots that didnt turn out right, and multiple photos of the same scene from slightly different angles.

Fortunately, you can easily declutter your photos with the Gemini Photos app. It finds and groups potentially unwanted photos, so you can delete them in a few taps. Heres how to clean up your photo library before transferring it to a new iPhone X or XR:

  • and open it.
  • Tap Similar, and then the most recent month.
  • If you agree, tap Move X to Trash. If you dont, select a different photo and then tap Move X to Trash.
  • Repeat for every group of similar photos and tap Empty Trash.
  • Tap Similar > Your Library to go back, and then select a different category, like Duplicates or Blurred.
  • When youre done with your cleanup, go back to the Photos app on your iPhone, and look through the Recently Deleted album. Thats where all those deleted photos went, and theyll stay there for 30 more days. If you want to delete them right away, tap Select, and then Delete All.

The iPhone’s Biggest Ever Design Change

The basic pitch for the iPhone X is this: Take the iPhone 8 Plus and cram all of its features into a body that’s closer to the size of the iPhone 8. Add Face ID but subtract the Touch ID home button, a casualty of the new, nearly all-screen design. That’s the iPhone X.

To be clear, except for that home button — and Touch ID — all of the other iPhone 8 Plus features are here, including a blazing fast six-core A11 Bionic processor, water-resistance and — unfortunately — no headphone jack. The iPhone X also boasts dual rear cameras which are even a bit better than the already superb ones on the Plus. Wireless charging is on board too, as is the glass-backed design needed to enable it. Yes, you’ll need a good case. And you should strongly consider Apple Care Plus, because repair costs for smashed front or rear glass on the iPhone X are exorbitant.

Of course, Apple is charging a hefty premium for its most sophisticated-ever iPhone, too: $999, £999 or AU$1,579 for 64GB. Or step up to $1,149 £1,149 or AU$1,829 for the 256GB version.

Yes, the iPhone X changes the look and function of the iPhone. Before the X, the iPhone design was frozen for years: Home button at the bottom, thick bezels above and below the screen. iOS made some subtle changes over the years, but losing the home button completely shifts the definition of an iPhone.

    Larger And Deeper Pixels

  • The display has rounded corners that follow a beautiful curved design, and these corners are within a standard rectangle. When measured as a standard rectangular shape, the screen is 5.85 inches and 6.46 inches diagonally. Actual viewable area is less.
  • iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max are splash, water, and dust resistant and were tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 . Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions. Liquid damage not covered under warranty.
  • Qi wireless chargers sold separately.
  • Compared with A11 Bionic.
  • Data plan required. Gigabit-class LTE, LTE Advanced, and LTE are available in select markets and through select carriers. Speeds are based on theoretical throughput and vary based on site conditions and carrier. For details on LTE support, contact your carrier and see www.apple.com/iphone/LTE.
  • Some features may not be available for all countries or all areas.

Then there’s the iPhone XR, which has a 6.1-inch LCD display and an aluminum and glass body instead of the stainless steel and glass of the XS and XS Max. The iPhone XR comes in white, black, coral, yellow, blue and red and costs $749, £749 or AU$1,229. That’s $50, £50 or AU$150 more than the iPhone 8 cost when it launched in 2017. The XR’s colors are a callback to the iPhone 5C.

Speed: iPhone X Vs iPhone 7

One of Apples 3 new iPhones is its biggest and most ...

The iPhone 7 is anything but sluggish. Benchmarks kept the iPhone 7 neck and neck with most Android models until the iPhone X came along which is by far the best-performing Apple smartphone released.

Lets start with the Apple A11 Bionic chipset. It has a Six-Core CPU and a Six Core GPU with 3GB of RAM. This gives you around 30% more GPU than the iPhone 7 and around 25% more CPU. This means you will be able to multitask by about 70% faster than with the iPhone 7. And it gives you all of this while simultaneously running the 2436×1125 pixel touchscreen, cameras, sensors and so on.

To top it all off, the Neural AI in the chipset can produce 600 billion operations per second, which is used for the iPhone Xs advanced facial recognition technology.

Summary: The iPhone 7 sports the A10 fusion chipset, which is around 70% slower than the A11 Bionic in the iPhone X. But keep in mind that both of these chipsets are pacy and can handle the needs of the vast majority of smartphone users.

Rear Camera: iPhone X Vs iPhone 7

The iPhone X features a dual back camera whereas the iPhone 7 does not. And likewise, both of the cameras are capable of taking professional-quality photos.

Again, on paper, the differences between the iPhone 7 and iPhone X are small. The iPhone Xs telephoto lens on the back has a slightly better aperture . But its not a dealbreaker for low light levels. Once again, however, numbers arent everything. The iPhone X has a faster 12 megapixel sensor, an image signal processor that makes the end result much better than the iPhone 7, and an impressive array of filters and image stabilisation features.

In short, the iPhone X takes better pictures. But the iPhone 7 is still competitive in todays market.

Summary: The iPhone 7 has an outstanding camera. But the iPhone X beats it with an impressive 12 MP sensor, Apples first ISP technology, superior image stabilisation and better pictures in low light.

iPhone X Vs iPhone 8 Plus Camera And Battery

The iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus both have 12MP dual-lens cameras on the back, allowing them to optically zoom and use depth of field effects in photography, but there are some subtle differences between them.

For one thing, while both of the iPhone Xs lenses have optical image stabilization only one of the iPhone 8 Pluss does, so when using the telephoto lens on the iPhone 8 Plus your image wont be stabilized.

Also, while both phones have an f/1.8 aperture wide-angle lens, the aperture of their telephoto lenses differs. The iPhone X has an f/2.4 aperture one, while the iPhone 8 Plus has an f/2.8 aperture one meaning the opening on the 8 Plus is smaller, so less light can get in.

In our review, we noted how the 8 Plus is much noisier in low light using the zoom, so this should be significantly improved on the iPhone X.

As for the front-facing camera, the iPhone X has the edge there too, at least on paper, as while both phones have a 7MP f/2.2 snapper, the iPhone X can tap into its Face ID tech to allow for depth adjustments in photos, and for Animoji, which are emoji that mirror your expressions and even your mouth movements when you talk.

The iPhone X also probably has a bigger battery than the iPhone 8 Plus. While the Xs battery size hasnt been officially confirmed yet, its reportedly 2,716mAh, while the iPhone 8 Plus has a 2,691mAh battery.

iPhone 11 Vs iPhone X: Cameras Battery And All The Specs Compared

Trying to decide between one of Apple’s older iPhone models? Let’s compare the iPhone X and iPhone 11.

When the iPhone X was unveiled to the world in the fall of 2017, Apple CEO Tim Cook called it “the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone.” That’s partly because at the time, the iPhone X was Apple’s largest phone yet, complete with an overhauled design. Gone were the thick bezels and the physical home button of its predecessor the iPhone 7 and virtually all previous generations of iPhone. Instead we got a bar-raising phone that featured a near edge-to-edge display and for the first time we were introduced to Face ID.

The iPhone X also set a new bar in terms of price, starting at $1,000. Two years later, in 2019, the iPhone 11 was announced as follow-up to the iPhone XR. It wasn’t the most innovative phone ever, but it was, as Apple billed it, the iPhone for everyone. If 2020’s iPhone 12 is out of your price range and you’re looking to snag a more affordable iPhone, let’s take a look at Apple’s previous two flagships and compare the iPhone X and iPhone 11.
