‘league Of Legends’ Got A Cameo In Today’s Apple Event

Apple specifically chose to highlight the forthcoming “League of Legends: Wild Rift” to showcase the iPhone 12’s gaming capabilities. “League,” the wildly popular online multiplayer game, has been a PC-only game for over ten years, and later this year it’s finally coming to mobile, to both iOS and Android, reaching a whole new audience of over a billion users.
Putting the spotlight on “Wild Rift” is an interesting choice considering Apple might have promoted its Apple Arcade subscription service, which offers a curated collection of mostly indie game titles. Today, Apple chose instead to focus on an unreleased title that so far hasn’t been announced for Apple Arcade at all. It didn’t choose one of its current successes such as the extremely lucrative “Genshin Impact” or a long-term moneymaker like “Pokémon Go.”
And it certainly didn’t choose “Fortnite,” which is currently not available in the App Store due to an ongoing legal battle between Apple and “Fortnite” creator Epic Games.
Last week a judge ruled last week that “Fortnite” would stay off of Apple’s phones while the companies battle over the lawsuit.

Apple’s latest devices are good news for anyone not looking to shell out $1,000 for a new phone.
The iPhone 12 mini starts at $699, while the iPhone 12 starts at $799. That’s downright affordable compared to other smartphones on the market that cost as much as $2,000.
Apple isn’t alone in targeting a more cost-conscious user. starts at $699 and the Pixel 4a 5G starts at $499. Meanwhile, the Pixel 4a that launched earlier this year costs $399.
The relatively low price point of these devices could provide a more affordable entry point to the 5G ecosystem as well as other more advanced technologies.
How Much Each iPhone Costs

The iPhone 12 Pro starts at $999, while the Pro Max costs $1099. The iPhone mini starts at $699, while iPhone 12 comes in at $799.
Older models are cheaper, too. The iPhone 11 costs $599, while the iPhone XR is $499. The budget iPhone SE is $399.
The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro will be available for pre-order on Oct. 16 and in stores on Oct. 23. The iPhone 12 mini and 12 Pro Max will be available for pre-order on Nov. 6 and in stores Nov. 13.

Which iPhone Should You Buy
This question is harder than ever before. If you want the best of the best and you dont mind the larger display, the iPhone 12 Pro Max includes one of the best cameras you can find on a smartphone today. Likewise, if youve been dying to return to a smaller phone, Apples iPhone 12 Mini is what youve wanted for years, and its an easy buy at just $699.
For everyone else, the similarities between the iPhone 12 and its Pro counterpart make it difficult to choose. If you dont mind sticking with 64GB of storage, the cheaper iPhone 12 is probably the right bet. But theres only a $50 price difference between the 256GB iPhone 12 and the 128GB iPhone 12 Pro, and the improved camera on the Pro model is enticing, to say the least.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is Apple’s biggest iPhone, but it doens’t have any advantages over the iPhone 13 Pro in terms of features, unlike in previous generations. It’s heavy and unwieldy, but the big display is great for games and the increased battery capacity allows for nearly two full days of regular use. The display gets a 120Hz refresh rate, but there’s still an unsightly notch that interferes with movies. Performance is great thanks to the A15 Bionic SoC. You can choose betweeen 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options. The main new features are camera-related: Cinematic Mode and Photographic Styles. The camera hardware has also been improved, compared to the previous generation. You can now take macros and the optical zoom goes up to 3X. Although incredibly expensive, the iPhone 13 Pro Max represents the best of the best in the iPhone lineup.

Wifi Bluetooth And U1 Chip
The iPhone 12 models include the same Apple-designed U1 chip that was first introduced in the iPhone 11 lineup. The U1 chip enables Ultra Wideband technology for improved spatial awareness, allowing the iPhone 12 models to precisely locate other U1-equipped Apple devices.
Apple has likened Ultra Wideband to “GPS at the scale of the living room,” because the technology is designed for improved indoor positioning and location tracking.
The U1 chip allows the iPhone 12 and 12 mini to precisely locate nearby AirTags. It’s also used for directional AirDrop and interaction with the HomePod mini, which also has a U1 chip.
As for Bluetooth and WiFi, the iPhone 12 models support Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 6, the newest and fastest WiFi protocol.

An Oled Screen With A Higher Resolution
The iPhone SE has an IPS LCD screen with a 750 x 1334 resolution, neither of which are exactly cutting edge.
Now, there are of course limits to what can be done with a mid-range phone, but when you consider that the similarly priced OnePlus Nord and both manage a higher resolution and OLED technology , its hard to see how Apple could justify omitting these things from the next iPhone SE model.
That said, we wouldnt count on getting either Apple rarely competes with Android phones on pure specs.
Best Deal On An iPhone
The 2020 iPhone SE has the A13 processor inside, meaning it performs just as well as the iPhone 11 from 2019 that costs several hundred dollars more. It’s the iPhone with the smallest screen, at 4.7 inches, but it’s no longer the smallest iPhone . It is the only iPhone you can buy now that sticks with the design of Apple’s older phones: thick bezels, a home button, and Touch ID for secure unlocking. Sadly, the headphone jack didn’t make the cut.
It does have some modern amenities, like wireless charging, and you get a solid single-lens camera. Just keep in mind that it won’t match the photo quality of the iPhone 12 or 12 Pro, especially in low light because there’s no Night mode. As senior writer Lauren Goode notes in her review, battery life is lacking too, just about lasting a full day with average use. If you’re in the market for a new iPhone and you balk at their prices, this is the one for youespecially if you also hate big-screen phones that don’t fit in your pocket. What’s Next For The iPhone Se
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, there is no new iPhone SE coming in 2021, with an update instead planned for the first half of 2022. The design and specifications will be similar to the existing iPhone SE, which is a 4.7-inch device modeled after the iPhone 8, but it will include 5G and an upgraded processor, which DigiTimes believes will be the A14 chip first used in the iPhone 12 lineup. Kuo says it will be the most affordable 5G iPhone available.
Nikkei believes the next-generation iPhone SE will look similar to the current design that’s based on the iPhone 8, but with an upgraded A15 chip, which is expected first in the iPhone 13, along with Qualcomm’s X60 modem for 5G. DigiTimes and Nikkei disagree on the A-series chip that will be in the new device, but either the A14 or the A15 will be an upgrade.
Kuo in 2029 said there would be an “iPhone SE Plus” with a full-screen design, no Face ID, and a Touch ID fingerprint sensor built into the power button on the side of the device, but his latest device predictions did not include a mention of this device and it may have been tabled.
Barclays analysts also do not believe that Apple has plans to refresh the iPhone SE in the foreseeable future, and that they have not heard mentions of a larger-screened iPhone SE with a 5.5 or 6.1-inch display.

The iPhone 12 is what most people should buy, especially because it has a feature that has been limited to the Pro models until now: an OLED display. Its 6.1-inch screen allows for much deeper blacks and a wider range of colors over the LCD on the iPhone 11, and it packs as many pixels as the iPhone 12 Pro, which means sharper-looking movies and shows. Apple has packed this phone with new perks like MagSafe, which lets you attach magnetic accessories to the back of the phone, like a wireless charger or a wallet. The screen is protected by Ceramic Shield tech Apple developed with Corning, with ceramic crystals embedded in the glass to make it more durable. It’s still glass though, so a case is a good idea. And then there’s 5G, the new network that remains sparse in the US. You should absolutely not buy this iPhone just to access 5G as you’re not going to see dramatically faster speeds in your day-to-day usemaybe in a few years. Battery life is, unfortunately, no improvement over its predecessor. It’ll get you through an average day . And it now comes in purple!
