Dual Cameras Are Impressive On The iPhone 7 Plus
The iPhone 7 has a spectacular camera, but it doesnt have anything on the iPhone 7 Plus dual-camera setup. Youll have to shell a little more money for the iPhone 7 Plus, but boy is that camera tech worth it.
Lets start with the normal iPhone 7, seeing as its one part of the system on the 7 Plus. The 12-megapixel camera officially features optical image stabilization, a 28mm wide-angle lens with a f/1.8 aperture, and a high-speed sensor thats 60 percent faster than before. Its also 30 percent more energy efficient. It takes great photos from what weve seen so far, so your shots will be slightly better on the iPhone 7 than they were on the iPhone 6S. Optical Image Stabilization also helps.
Apples new image signal processor in the iPhone 7 offers twice the throughput of Apples previous ISP, and even the True Tone flash has gotten an upgrade it has four LEDs that offer 50 percent more light. A new flicker sensor also adds artificial light, for brighter images in low-light scenarios.
The camera can detect faces and bodies and offers wide color capture. Theres so much more going on when you take a shot, such as white balance, noise reduction, and combining multiple images. Apple says there are 100 billion operations every time you take a picture, all in the span of 25 milliseconds. This is marketing lingo, but what the phone is able to do in a fraction of a second is impressive.

Take a quick glance at the iPhone 7 Plus spec sheet and you’d be forgiven for thinking nothing has changed in the screen department over the iPhone 6S Plus and 6 Plus.
The display is still 5.5 inches and has the same 1080 x 1920 resolution, which produces an all-too-familiar 401ppi pixel density.
With rivals including Samsung, LG, HTC and Sony equipping their flagship smartphones with QHD resolutions, it’s hard not to feel a little left behind when picking up the new iPhone 7 Plus especially when you consider its lofty price tag.
That’s not to say the screen is bad. Text and images are still crisp and clear, and brightness is just as excellent as it has been on previous handsets apparently it’s 25% brighter here, although it’s not particularly noticeable.
Apple has tinkered with the tech too, adding a cinema-standard wide color gamut into the mix for richer, more realistic visuals on screen, which helps when it comes to using the expansive screen as a viewfinder for the dual-camera lenses on the back of the 7 Plus.
Put the 7 Plus side-by-side with the 6S Plus, and if you look really closely you can see the colors are a little richer on the new iPhone but there isn’t much in it.

If you use your iPhones camera a lot, the Plus is by far the better buy. The telephoto lens adds a lot of flexibility to your shooting. Portrait mode, which simulates the look of a DSLR with a wide aperture lens, is also a really great addition.

Power Management For Depleted Batteries
In devices that have degraded lithium-ion batteries, Apple has introduced power management features that can slow down the iPhone during times of peak power draw to prevent unexpected shutdowns.
Apple first introduced the power management features in iOS 10.2.1, but the issue received additional attention at the end of 2017 after it became clear that power management involved slowing down iPhones with batteries that are running at a sub-optimal level.

Customers who already paid for a battery replacement for an iPhone 6 or later in 2017 from Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider are eligible for a $50 credit.
