Does The iPhone Xr Come With Airpods
Nope. Sorry, but Apple isn’t just giving away AirPods to anyone. You need to buy them separately. The cheapest AirPods cost $159 and come with a standard, while $199 gets you a wireless charging case. The AirPods Pro cost $249.00 and feature Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode for when you want to hear what’s happening around you, a new design, and enhanced audio.
However, you do get free EarPods with the iPhone XR. The iPhone hasnât offered a headphone jack since the introduction of the iPhone 7 in 2016, and this model is no exception. These wired headphones plug into the phoneâs charging port to offer simple access to music listening and other audio. Because they donât have a standard 3.5mm connector, youâre basically limited to using them with the iPhone itself.
Note that these are not the same as the AirPods, the $159 wireless headphones that charge up through a dental-floss-shaped holder. While Apple was expected to introduce a new version of these at its , the event came and went with no sign of them.
Also, note that Apple now does not offer a 3.5mm to Lightning dongle inside the box anymore. The $9 bit of wire enables users to plug in a broader range of headphones, using the same connector that first debuted back in the 1950s. Those without Bluetooth headphones, or those that donât feel like using Appleâs bundled set, will have to fork over the extra to reconnect their headphones.
How To Buy iPhone 11
The iPhone 11 is available from the Apple online store, Apple retail locations, and third-party retailers. The iPhone 11 is priced starting at $499 for the 64GB model and there’s also a 128GB model for $549, but a previous 256GB model has been discontinued. Apple in February 2021 began selling refurbished iPhone 11 models and they are currently available starting at $419.

What Comes With The iPhone
As the years have passed, Apple has slowly started including less and less accessories with new iPhone purchases. They do this both to cut down on packaging waste, and to encourage consumers to buy accessories separately.
If you buy an iPhone from Apple, all you’ll receive is the iPhone, a charging cable, and a SIM card ejector pin.
You’ll need to buy all of these items separately if you want them. And although any pair of Bluetooth headphones will work with your iPhone, if you want to use non-Apple wired headphones, you’ll likely need to buy a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, which lets you plug a standard headphone jack into your charging port.
Altogether, the cheapest pair of AirPods , a charging adapter , and a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter will cost around $190, not including tax or shipping.
Important: All this information is true if you’re buying your iPhone and accessories directly from Apple. If you’re buying products from a third-party retailer or reseller, you might receive different prices or accessories.

Headphone Options For iPhone 12
Since AirPodsor any other headphonesdon’t come with the iPhone 12, what are your options? Practically anything!
You can still buy EarPods from Apple for about $19. And you can get the second-generation AirPods for around $160 or the AirPods Pro for around $250.
But you can also get virtually any other kind of headphones, too. The iPhone supports nearly any Bluetooth headphones, including Apple’s line of Beats headphones.
If you prefer wired headphones other than the EarPods, make sure you get the $9 adapter to plug the standard headphone jack into Apple’s Lightning port at the bottom of the iPhone .

Water And Dust Resistance
The iPhone 11 has an IP68 water resistance rating, which is up from IP67 in the previous-generation iPhone XR. It’s rated to survive a depth of up to two meters for up to 30 minutes. Two meters is double the depth rating of the iPhone XR, but less than some more recent iPhone models.
With an IP68 water resistance rating, the iPhone 11 can withstand splashes, rain, and brief accidental water exposure, but intentional water exposure should be avoided. Apple warns that water and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and deteriorate as a result of normal wear.
Apple’s warranty does not cover liquid damage to iOS devices so it’s best to use caution when exposing the iPhone 11 to liquids.
iPhone 11 Se And Xr Also Lose In
Yesterday Apple unveiled its first iPhones to come without a power adapter or earphones in the box. The new iPhone 12 models ship with a USB-C to Lighting cable and that’s that and we now learn that thechange has been carried over to older models sold by Apple as well. From now on iPhone XR, iPhone 11 and iPhone SE units will only come with a USB-C to Lightning cable and no power adapter or EarPods in the box.
The only exception is France, where you will still get the EarPods bundled with all available iPhone models currently up for sale. This is all due to local accessibility laws which require phone manufacturers to provide a headset in their retail package.

To partially offset the change Apple discounted the price of its EarPods by $10, taking them down to $19 apiece and matching the price of the new 20W power adapter. So Why Isn’t There A Headphone Jack Anymore
Apple reportedly removed the headphone jack because it found that consumers had been purchasing pairs of wireless headphones and the headphone jack, unfortunately, was “an outdated technology,” according to Fortune â even if people still loved it.
While Apple might have found the headphone jack to be outdated, some iPhone users out there haven’t completely converted to using Bluetooth headphones, and you can’t blame them. Some people prefer the cord or don’t have the budget to purchase a brand new pair of headphones.
On the other hand, some might be OK purchasing a pair of AirPods, which are Apple’s rechargeable wireless headphones. AirPods start at $159, connect to your phone automatically, are compatible with Siri, andallow users to charge their phone while listening to music at the same time. But AirPods aren’t your speed, there are other wireless headphones out there.
Sure, the headphone jack or free headphones may never come back to the iPhone. But luckily, there are ways for people with corded earbuds to adapt to this major change.
Apple iPhone Wireless Charging
Apple, a member of the Wireless Power Consortium, introduced wireless charging in their 10th anniversary iPhone X model, together with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in 2017. These were followed in 2018 with the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, and in 2019 Apple also released the second-generation AirPods with an upgraded Wireless Charging Case. All of these handsets use the Qi wireless charging standard. Previous models are compatible with wireless chargers with the use of an accessory or add-on.

Earpods A Lot Of Benefits
So, lets take a look at some of the benefits of a wired pair of headphones. They are going to be much less expensive, both to buy as part of the phone and to replace in the event they become lost or damaged. A pair of EarPods is incredibly expensive still and so its not something you particularly want to lose.
Furthermore, you have to remember that the wired headphones are still made by Apple themselves, so they have that same level of quality that everything else has. They are built to last, and provide excellent audio feedback for people who want to listen to music or watch video clips. You wont need to replace them for quite awhile, which means they can service excellent temporary solutions for listening.
How To Use Wireless Charging With Your Apple iPhone
The above iPhone handsets from 2017 onwards are all compatible with Qi wireless chargers such as those found in public spaces and in vehicles, as well as the complete Aircharge range. When using these models, simply place the handset on a Qi wireless charger to start charging. For older models, an accessory is required to utilise a wireless charger, such as an Aircharge MFi iPhone case. Once the case is installed, the iPhone can be placed on a wireless charging pad to initiate charge.
In Aircharge public spaces, owners of non-Qi models can also make use of wireless charging technology through the use of the Aircharge Orb, the worlds first and only MFi Certified multihead adaptor. Simply plug the Lightning connector into the port and place the orb on the Aircharge surface charger to charge. Alternatively, accessories such as the Aircharge keyring or MFi Lightning receiver can be plugged into the iPhone and placed on a wireless charger to transfer charge to the handset.

Why Doesnt The iPhone 13 Come With Airpods
The iPhone 7 and the iPhone 8 series both included a pair of wired headphones, but with the release of the iPhone 12, Apple stopped including accessories with its devices. Its reasonable to expect that this will continue for the iPhone 13 as well.
The next-generation device will most likely only include a Lightning to USB-C adapter, similar to the previous model. Other attachments, such as a wall charger, will have to be purchased separately.

AirPods are Apples pair of truly wireless earbuds. They look very much like the EarPods, just with the wires chopped off.

You Can Still Get Airpods

Does The iPhone 11 Have A Headphone Jack
Sadly, the answer is a firm no. The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Max dont have headphone jacks. This will be an annoyance for any audiophile thats invested in a decent set of cabled cans or avid music fan thats not interested in the good, not great, Apple Airpod true wireless earbuds.

The lack of a headphone jack isnt that surprising though. Apple originally cut the input from the now ancient iPhone 7 many moons ago and it has not looked back since.
The move also led to numerous other smartphone makers to follow Apples lead. Since then most flagship Samsung phones, like the Galaxy Note 10 have cut the input. Google Pixel 4 also isnt expected to feature a headphone jack.
Thankfully wireless headphones have come a long way since Apple made the headphone jack go the way of the dodo.

If you care about stability then Apples own Airpods 2 true wireless are a great option, though we here at Trusted currently prefer the Sony WF-1000XM3, which offer better audio quality and ANC. If you want something a little more serious there are also a number of great over ear options covering a variety of different price points.
If youre after a top-end pair youll want to make sure the set has decent ANC and supports the Qualcomm aptX codec. If thats not a concern there are a number of solid affordable options from the likes of Kitsound and Taotronics available.

Apples Airpods 2021 Lineup

While Apple has introduced the iPhone 13 series, it was also thought the new AirPods 3 were going to be introduced alongside the new iPhones. Yet that didnt pan out.
The new AirPods 3 have been long-rumored and are said to adopt the design of the AirPods Pro. In other words, the entry-level AirPods would do away with the long stem design and feature a much shorter step and compact design that the AirPods Pro has.
However, the AirPods 3 will not feature the AirPods Pro killer feature active noise cancelation.
The AirPods 3 are still through to be debuting later this year maybe at the same event where Apple introduced the new 14in and 16in MacBook Pros. But what is NOT expected are the AirPods Pros 2, which will likely not come out until 2022. The AirPods Pro 2 is rumored to do away with the shorter stem entirely for a more bolt-like design and features additional health tracking tools.
What this means for Apples 2021 AirPods lineup is that by the end of the year there will be the new AirPods 3 on sale as well as the original AirPods Pro. However, it is also rumored Apple will keep the AirPods 2 on sale as well. In other words, but the end of 2021, Apple should sell three models of AirPods:
- AirPods 2
- AirPods Pro
What this means is Apple is likely to either drop the price of the AirPods 2 or the AirPods 2 will retain their current price and the AirPods 3 will be priced between that of the AirPods 2 and the AirPods Pro .

Wireless Functionality Still Exists
Before anyone begins boycotting the new series of iPhones, you should remember the wireless functionality is still built-in to the device and more than ready for you to start using. Any Bluetooth headset will be more than effective when paired with the iPhone 11 promax, and you can still of course purchase AirPods from Apple themselves separately.
Just because they arent shipped with the model, that does not mean that they are inaccessible to the public. Quite the contrary in fact, as Apple are very proud of their AirPods and routinely suggest that people purchase them. We have a pair or two around the office ourselves, so we know firsthand that they are an incredibly useful accessory to have with the phone.
In conclusion, while you may not necessarily be able to have access to AirPods with your new iPhone, that doesnt mean that you cant get them later on. The EarPods which are provided with your phone will be more than sufficient for listening to audio, and are still an exceptionally good piece of software to use.
Apple themselves have a lot of experience with making incredible software, and they dont produce anything which isnt going to last a long time and carries their seal of quality. In the interim however, an existing Bluetooth headset that you own can be paired quite easily, along with wireless headphones that you have acquired from a third-party.
